This video hears from Diné, Onandaga and Colville Confederated tribal views on Pre-Columbian leadership structures in Indigenous civilizations. This was a zoom webinar recorded on July 19, 2020. We start with an introduction of the Indigenous candidate we are raising funds for, Glenda Breiler.

As one who has 'dabbled in' politics, I am thrilled that so many people take inspiration from/with Lyla June, even to the point of running for office! Run as the Rivers Run -- without ceasing! Water brothers, water sisters, and non-binaries ... listen! Mother Earth has her voice ... let us listen and join our voices with hers!

I always go along the edge of the Columbia River, below the dam.it is so full of life.I find wild blackberries and yarrow. There are still huge salmon there. The sight of the dam is so dreadful, and it seems so strange that tourists stop and take pictures and gather in front of it.Above the dam is also sad.One day it will be gone and the river will return to it happy way

Time-Traveling Canoe Journey...??? That sounds amazing!!! Although, when I first heard her say that I thought she meant that her Canoe made it so she could travel through time... hahaha. I got a good laugh out of that. But, in all seriousness, I applaud all of the work that you all have done to make the world a better place for Native Americans, indigenous peoples and all people. I have the utmost respect for you all. As a Diné (and distant Cherokee and Blackfoot), I am truly grateful for you all. It's funny because Lyla looks exactly like my mother does in pictures from when she was very young. I love my parents dearly and I am proud that they had always embraced and were proud of their native heritage. Bless You All. Namaste

Interesting to hear about the andean "shaman" selling the skillz, because my great grandmother was a yatiri and practiced medicine for animals and people in the andes. I would like to know who this person is. But when colonisers took our coca and our potatoes those were also very bad causes with corresponding effects. Also on languages here in Scotland, Gaelic is spoken further north,in Argyll and above, but down here in the lowlands, the traditional language was actually closer to welsh back in the middle ages, and then I think it was the norman influence that brought "Inglis" which might have been the sister language of english. It evolved into scots - what "the simpsons" loves pokig fun at. Today it has become more of a dialect, as the predominant culture is english. Nowadays scots is only spoken by working class, socially deprived or rural people. But it's so valuable and needs to be learnt and used.

Uniting the whole of humanity in peaceful cooperation to thrive in care and respect for our environment and all life within it. This is the ultimate goal. It all starts with kindness, compassion, and gratitude. Thank you for making a great point in that we are all a part of the human race. Although our cultures might be different, we all have the commonality of being human. Just like most cultures, we indigenous Americans introduce ourselves by our tribes to establish this commonality. It also gives us a sense of understanding for what each other's ancestors were like and where we were because our ancestors and cultures are alive within us; this therefore also means, that we're not only responsible for our own lives, but the lives of of all of our future generations. We recognize that this is true for everyone. Just like epigenetics... A great grandparent can pass down a rare illness and the shape of their nose, but another great grandparent can pass down beautiful eyes and a gene that makes the immune system very strong and essentially cancel out the gene that makes one susceptible to that rare illness. My point is that our ancestors might not be walking around right now, but they are still a part of us. In fact, scientific studies have shown that the same traumas that our parents and grandparents experienced will make us predisposed to being fearful of that trauma. I didn't really do a very good job of explaining it, but I think that you get the jist. Thank you for your comment. I wish you the very best. Bless You and Your Family. Namaste

As a white woman living in the heart of the Midwest, I really enjoyed listening to this video. I researched it after hearing Leila‘s TikTok, and was so impressed by her! I’m so appreciative to learn some of the insights from the people on this video. the transcript doesn’t list everyone’s name properly accurately. It would be great if someone names of who participated in video and away to followed on camera more information for them.

I have indigenous ancestry as well on both sides but European too. I did not come from humble beginnings and I'm trying to get back to the old ways. I am more than concerned this covid-19 is being utilized to further strip people of all color of their rights. If you want more info please message me. Everyone from every nation needs to come together in love. We are currently operating on a level of fear. If we want a government for the people, this system we currently have has to go.
