Lyme-Literate doctor Raphael Stricker speaks at LymeDisease.org Board Meeting

Dr. Stricker, an internist and hematologist, is co-principal investigator of the MyLymeData project.
He is an internationally recognized leader in tick-borne disease diagnosis and treatment, a board member of LymeDisease.org, and past President and board member of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS). He also serves on the Lyme Disease Advisory Committee for the California Department of Public Health.
MyLymeData, a patient registry launched in 2015, is a longitudinal study. Participants answer a series of online surveys regarding their Lyme disease experiences over time.
With more than 10,000 people enrolled, it is the largest study of Lyme disease patients ever conducted, with more than a million data points for scientists to analyze.
Researchers from UCLA and Claremont McKenna College recently received an $800,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to work with data from the registry.

I learned more in the first two minutes of this video than I have from the seven doctors I’ve been to. Even though I’ve had almost every symptom in the past two years...no one will listen to me because I’ve had three negative Lyme tests. I’ve also had an MRI...EEG...EMG, etc. But now after doing some research I have an appointment with a Lyme literate doctor. Im keeping my fingers crossed.

I have found in the 35 yrs. of Lyme, the minute I say anything about Lyme, every Dr. goes into “how to prove I do not have Lyme mode!!!!” Loss of life doesn’t always mean dying!

This guy is great! however I pulled a tick off me last week and there is now a red quarter size rash that itched like crazy.. kept me up all night scratching. and it was from the tick NOT a ring worm. going to see my family physician tomorrow. @1:45

@@larkinandlarkin I was terrified it was a deer tick that carried Lyme Disease.. I put it in a sandwich bag and searched the internet and relieved it was a Lone Star tick....further research I learned it can carry a red meat allergy called "alpha-gal syndrome" which can be serious, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. AGS may occur after people eat red meat. some people have to give up meat for years. My doctor said it is rare and not to worry. He said many hunters come in contact with them and have no problem.

Don't go to Lahey or Bostin Medical Center. Horrible experiences there...since 2011. Doctors there don't think lyme exists after 30 days of antibiotics. These doctors should go to jail for malpractice.

Oh yes! Just the same as Deer stopping at the New York/Canadian border! & birds didn't have their passport I suppose.... Canada doesn't have Lyme, you know. NOT! .......

Yep, CDC still says that about Florida, yet I didn't live in Connecticut or places up that way, and I have Lyme with several co infections including positive tests for Babesia, and Bartonella, but sure I can't possibly have Lyme disease, because I didn't live in Connecticut. It was a deer tick that I pulled out the back of my head, and it had the black legs, as I remember so well since it's black legs were still moving . I had flu like symptoms, dizzy, a nasty headache, and soreness around the area where the tick was in the back of my head. but again, I guess the deer stop before crossing over a state line.

Diagnosed in 2011 Can't tolerate antibiotucs any more. Have granulomas in liver. Stage 3..neuro problems. Started taking CBD oil and Carbon 60 from Live Longer Labs. It calmed down the neuro problems. Somewhat functional now.

I wish these Lyme doctors would charge a lot less than their $700-$950 USD PER 10-15 MINUTE APPOINTMENT. This is NOT helpful for Lyme patients who are already extremely debilitated and impoverished by the disease and what it does to us, IN ADDITION to the $$$HUNDREDS$$$ we have to lay out for monthly antibiotics. These doctors' outrageous charges are NOT helpful for people suffering from this terrible disease.
