She has a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a Master’s in engineering management. Lyn went from intern to lead engineer at an aviation facility before retiring with financial independence at 33. Also, BTW: The BTC threat to income tax is a great thing and will force governments to move to a consumption tax format. like a national sale tax. You pay your tax at the consumption transaction. A FAR more efficient and fair way to Tax, (if taxes are really ever fair) and your tax burden will be based, not on income but consumption, THE single fairest way to tax. Savers are rewarded and over-consumers pay a premium. How much income you actually make is irrelevant. Food, clothing, housing could be exempted from a consumption tax and unneeded luxury items like cigarettes, speed boats and sports cars can be taxed at a higher rate.

I own bitcoin because I heard someone say owning bitcoin is like owning a call on its adoption as an alternative currency. That made sense to me. We will see how the alternative currency story plays out. My problem regarding BTC is the basic question: what is it good for? Because the story has 'evolved' to choose a gentle word. Remember the Blockchain! Viva el Blockchain! Transactions? I think I remember transactions were a use case? What happened. Just feels like I am putting my faith in what? An algorithm? People that say they know? A speculative spin of the wheel? I feel like things really are different this time, for better or worse, the old rules don't apply. Fun to watch it unfold.

27:38 Yes, Lyn is right again, all real estate is local... it varies a lot from city to city and from region to region, as anyone with a map and internet connection can verify, same number of rooms and bathrooms in one place almost twice or five times more than in place... when the experts try to "average" that market they do the public a huge disservice with that info, and yet with other info that doesn't really mater to consumers they shuffle it so much FOR THEIR OWN ENDS, and nuance it so much that they can claim the subject is very complicated. What they do wen they do that, and use that sort of language or lingo, is to be able to ONLY talk to each other, like doctors do, thus you pay higher prices for their "services". Thera are some "professionals", like lawyers or doctors, etc who patronizingly use metaphors that are not even similar to the topic being discussed "it's like...", when simple words would do.

My question is: even with self custody, eventually you have to use it, for loans or to trade etc... but once it goes online with the BTC network it is or becomes public, so what is the use IF THAT IS THE CASE to self custody?? Say a USA citizen has 3000 bitcoins, then the gov becomes even more repressive than it is not, he decides to leave the USA and so takes his BTC into a cold wallet and leaves to Argentina or El Salvador, or anyplace, Do you people really think the USA gov will not chase him anywhere in the world, even bring charges of tax evasion or any other things, as soon they know where he is or he connects those Bitcons online??? Can the gov at some point tell Coinbase or other exchanges to freeze someone's BTC and confiscate it?? Coinbase has said they will comply to a LAWFUL order... so...??
