@@mariambam8497 Thank you, I think this describes the feeling perfectly. I guess I should be grateful for the dream because I not only remember the feelings I felt but now from the dream I can remember bits about her. She was taller than me with long blonde hair. Sometimes she'd sneak up on me and cup my eyes doing that silly 'guess who' thing. I remember us laughing and smiling together with our group around a wooden rectangle table at a bar with food. We were all so close because we all went to the same school together. I remember we worked as a group doing odd jobs fighting various types of enemies. I was the leader and I thought that I didn't have time for trivial things like romance, I felt like I was too busy with the burden of leading our team. One night we were getting ready to set off for a particularly dangerous job in the morning. We gad to go and take back a gate that had been overrun by our clients enemies. She ran in ahead of us while we were sleeping. I guess she was trying to prove to me that she could help shoulder my responsibilities. That morning when we all woke up to gather together someone came and told me she was missing. I knew her and I knew exactly where she'd gone. This is where I start to lose my grip, I'm so upset and I'm crying and running towards the gate. I remember praying and begging for her to still be okay, to just hang in there until I came for her. I remember fighting but because I was so upset I couldn't keep my composure and I was balling my eyes out. I was remembering all the regret I had because I never told her how I felt about her, she could be dead and I'd have no chance to ever see her again. I woke up balling my eyes out and grieving for her. I exited the dream mid battle so I never got to see if she lived or died or even if I lived or died. But I remember the regret of not telling her how I felt, of not being able to hold her and be with her the way I really wanted to. It's a lonely feeling knowing that it was all a dream. Because it felt so real. I'm grateful to be able to remember her though and I think there is a good lesson in there. Like don't take life too seriously and always follow your heart

It really sounds like you had an adventures life. It takes a lot of Courage and strenght to be a leader, so I get what you meant by not having time for anything else. I am really sorry for you never finding out what really happend to the both of you... But I also want to share something that I do believe in, that is that if the dream really was some kind of past life, then maybe 'cause of the way you two understood each other, maybe you were soulmates? And soulmates are meant to be togehter. So the girl from your dream is here in her next life aswell and maybe you will find her here too. Whats meant to be is meant to be. :)

I remember hearing this song cover back in December and immediately falling in love with this song. That month itself, the love of my life came into my life, my baby, my kitten, Kitchu. My mother found him by the gutter and brought it home when he was only a few weeks old. I didn't particularly like cats back then because I thought that they were not loving at all. But as time gradually went by, it drew closer to me. I used to sing this song to him to lull him to sleep. It was the first time I loved something so deeply. I was still recovering from a past love. I used to hold it to my chest and it was the first time I showed that level of physical affection to a living being. I thought he would drift away when he grew up. But he didn't. Every morning he waited for me to open my bedroom door. Every day it came and sat next to me during dinner and played with my brother in the afternoon. Every day he would try to get in the house when we tried to make it sleep outside the house. Every day he would climb onto my lap when I patted my lap. Every day it would patiently wait by the dinner table so we would finish up and feed it. Every day, Lyn. Every day. And when I would look into his eyes suddenly I would become a child who believed that magic existed in this world. 6 months passed. I grew and so did he.5 days ago he suddenly got ill and stopped eating completely. He went missing the day before yesterday and I thought he'd gone for good. But he came back. With the final remnants of his energy, he scaled our compound wall and returned in the morning, yesterday. I held it in my hands as he passed away. Limp in my arms, lifeless. I sang this song to him in his last moments. I've been trying not to cry the past day( unsuccessfully). Today when I was going through my gallery, I came across a video of me singing this song to him when he was a wee kitten, as he slowly drifted to sleep. And I immediately wanted to thank you for this wonderful memory I have of him because of you. Everyone in my family gathered around him as he passed away. He loved us so much and we loved him even more. In his short life he managed to leave a mark on each of our hearts. Thank you Lyn. Thank you for being part of this journey even though you maybe unaware of impact you have on my life. This is forever my favourite song now. And his too.

POV: This song hits you differently if you've ever been a foster child, passed from home to home. One of the foster home I was in, around the age when I was 4 years old, they "loved" me and promised to adopted me. But, as time went by, their feelings changed. They didn't seem to love me as much, involve me with the rest of their family as much, & literally would leave me locked alone in the house, while they went out. They became abusive in many ways. Even still, I longed for a family, especially a mother. The end of the song, where the lyrics say: "Lonely and forgotten, never thought she'd look my way... She smiled at me and held me, just like she used to do, like she loved me.. . When she loved me. . ." Those lyrics really got to me, because as a foster child, this is exactly what they do to us. At the last minute, they all of a sudden act like they "love" us again, giving us false hope. They tell use they're going to take us out for ice cream or something. They finally give us the attention & love we've been seeking and desperately have been needing. But this time, it's the last time. This time, it's because they are taking us back to either an orphanage, or to another foster home, etc. And the cycle continues, again and again, for many foster children unfortunately. 😢

I used to sing this song to my beautiful dog as a joke when she was mad at me. She passed away last year while I was studying abroad. Listening to this version made me relive some of our best moments together, but it also broke my heart. I feel like I never had the chance to mourn her death as being away made me feel like she was just waiting for me back home. I felt as if when I got back, she would receive me at the door, jumping, moving her tail. When I finally got home, realization hit me. I did not have the chance to say goodbye. A little story I made in my head while listening to this cover (I'm not the best writer hahah): The little girl was too shy to reach her hand out to the little boy in front of her. Her mother whispered to her "Go on, make a friend". The little girl became less nervous, and reached her hand out to the little boy that was in front of her. The little boy grabbed her hands and they both ran up a hill next to a tree, and the little girl didn't feel as nervous as she was before. Both the little boy and girl sat down next to the tree watching the sunset until, it was time for the both of them to go home. . . . A few years have passed and the little girl was not little anymore, she has now turned 15. The boy is also not a little boy he was. He is now 15 as well...the boy walked up to the girl and asked her "Would you like to go to our usual spot up the hill?". The girl replied quickly saying, "Of course!". The boy held her hands running up the hill towards the tree together, where they would usually sit. The girl felt a nostalgic feeling whenever she is near him, she even feels like she's about to have feelings for him but, she as still unsure and afraid to ask him. She looked at the boy and, he looked back at her smiling, which made her get all flustered and look back at the sunset. He chuckled a bit and stared back at the glowing warm sun. They both watched the big orange sun set down to slumber. . . . More years have passed, the boy bought some orange flowers from the nearest supermarket he found. He smiled while looking at the flowers. He walked up the hill towards the tree...their usual spot, He stood there looking at the sun while the wind was blowing his golden short hair. A small tear drop fell from his sky-blue eyes, and then another tear fell, and then another...until, his tears slowed and he placed the flower down the girl's tombstone near the tree. The boy sat down next to her tombstone, and he started to have a lot of flooding memories of him and her together sitting next to the tree everyday to watch the sun go down. The boy whispered and said "The sun is beautiful isn't it? It's just like your smile...I'm sorry I couldn't protect that warm smile of yours". Another tear has fallen from his cheek. His last words before leaving the hill were "I'm glad I met you...I wished you could've heard that from me sincerely in person". The boy walked slowly and turned around once more smiling at her tombstone, he then suddenly felt her presence near the tree, which made him smile with tears in his eyes.... -Fin- I hope that wasn't too long ehehe....but remember! To most people this song sounds like a break-up reflection song but for me it seems so much more impactful than that thanks to Jessie. Jessie’s owner gradually forgets about her and eventually abandons her near the park she used to play with her at. I can’t listen to this without crying. I hope and pray no one ever has been in a similar situation like Jessie’s nor has to be. Being forgotten over time and then abandoned in a place you used to love and exactly where you spent most of your quality time with the same person who left you there 😭

I used to share everything to my mother when I was a kid, she used to be my best friend. My mother and father broke up when I was 6, she is everything I had. But everything changed, when she found another man and give birth to my sister. Btw, my father also had his live in partner but he already died when I was in 4th year college (graduating). And so I grew up suppressing my feelings because every time I'll share, she no longer listens to me. I'm still healing until now, even tho I'm already in this adulting phase, triggers are there every time she brings up the topic that I need to help them to move abroad even tho I'm still adjusting to these adulting life. It is soooooo hard for me, and I want to tell her this but I know that she'll not understand my side or she is just stuck between me and her family.

This song reminds me of when I spent an entire summer with a girl I never had feelings for. Every single day we’d go outside around 7 to chill at a ditch and drink slushies as the sun went down until stars came out where we’d lay just until we’d feel sleepy and go home. We did this for months and I never knew I loved her till she left me for another guy to do it with. I never confessed my feelings to her in time and it was too late when they started dating after 2 weeks. Though we never officially “dated” I still consider her my first girlfriend because she just meant so much to me at that time.

This song reminds me of a dream I had where this absolutely beautiful, kind, helpful, and thoughtful girl and i went out to a theme park and afterwards we went to a drive in movie theater and cuddled in the back while we watched. We eventually confessed our feelings for each other at the end of the night but I woke up before we kissed. I was so heartbroken that morning, I cried for hours.
