Hi, Lee. This is a wonderful interview and we can really learn a lot from Mrs Russell. I'm at the part about people who come back with various abilities and it occurred to me that from the thousands of NDE accounts I've listened to, I never came across an NDEer who has some sort of disability in this life (cerebral palsy, paraplegia, deafness, blindness...). If it isn't too hard of a task, would you be willing to research a little in that direction? I have cerebral palsy and I HATE it. Ever since I have found out about NDEs, I have been asking myself why, in the world, would I choose life with this disability and whether I'll be "normal" in Heaven. I haven't found anything upon this subject thus this request. Thank you so much in advance.

Hi Peta, I'm so sorry that this life has ben so difficult for you. My research also included quite a few people with various levels of abilities. So I can answer your question. When we leave this dimension of existence, we no longer have a body. Thus, there are no disabilities. You and all others struggling with physical issues will be able to be completely free of the issue. However, there is a catch. If one is dealing with a disability or any issue in this life and decides to end it through suicide there is a heavy price to pay. Three things happen for those who commit suicide. If the body they have left is still able to sustain life, then they are sent back to the life they left to complete it. Or, they may stay at the soul level of existence, however, they are caught into a Twilight Zone horror as they relive over and over the issue that brought them to suicide and find a way to deal with the problem without killing themselves. And those who have not completed their life cycle in this incarnation must come back into this another life with exactly the same issues to deal with and they must do so without committing suicide. So, the bottom line is, we don't get out of what we are trying to avoid. We still have to complete the life we have with all the concerns it has. One last point. I took a peek at your KZbin site and see that you are into meditation and mindfulness. Great! Keep it up! But there is another aspect that needs to be considered and that is our thoughts. Aside from the physical issues we are born with, every single thing in our lives first comes from thought. Our thoughts and attitudes are vitally important. I know you have heard it all before about the power of gratitude in our lives. I have a suggestion. Go out and find a way to do kind and caring things for complete strangers without any thought of what you get back. There are a dozen places that could use your help from the soup kitchen, food bank, or working with youth who have disabilities. The rewards you will receive will be a thousand times a thousand in return. Blessings, Lynn K. Russell

@@lynnrussell1841 thank you so much for taking the time to write this reply, it really touched me. I'm sorry if my question appeared to be that of an angry and embittered person. I assure you that I'm neither. I certainly am NOT suicidal. I just get frustrated from not being able to do some (physical) things from time to time and when I hear that I chose this life, I wonder what on earth I was thinking. I live a very rich spiritual and intellectual life: I read a lot, I'm writing a book, I have a dog whom I adore and, yes, I enrich my Soul with reading and meditation. I asked this question because I was curious.

@@petramucnjak7872 Thanks for your reply. It's great to know that you're not in a negative state of mind. The reason I included the suicide information is because when NDEs are talked about they are so positive that I worry about people thinking, "What am I doing here?" Anyway, I did give you an answer to your question that yes you will be able to do all that you cannot presently do. The other half of the answer is about why you chose a life with this disability. Although for us time seems to go so slowly, but from the spiritual perspective they are over in a flash. Before your soul came here, it chose this life because it would gain the greatest amount of learning and growth this way. It is not unusual for the soul to intentionally choose very difficult lives because of the growth it brings in the end. We may look at some of the people in undeveloped parts of the world and wonder about their lives. But the soul chose every aspect of it. Another reason for choosing more difficult lives is so that we can teach others. There are many lessons we can gain from the awareness of pain and sorrow in the world. Many blessings to you. Have a fabulous weekend and stay positive. Lynn

How does one get into NDE research? Are there study courses available somewhere?
@lynnrussell18414 ай бұрын
Hi acyutanandadas3966, this is an interesting question. As I mentioned in the interview I got into the research because I just happened to be on the chat line on a NDE research site. So, you could go to NDERF (Near-Death Experience Research Foundation) and ask there. Or you might want to explore IANDS and ask if they know of any research projects happening. These places may not themselves have anything but may know of places where you could explore. Good luck, Lynn K Russell

Hi, thanks for your question and accept my apologies for being so slow getting back to you. Perhaps I mentioned in the interview that I got into the research because Dr. Jeffrey Long asked for a volunteer and I agreed. There are so many aspects of the NDE that need research. The issue is, getting cooperation from the medical profession. You perhaps could talk to IANDS, they may have some information for you,' Lynn K Russell
