It is so wonderful to hear about the preservation society finally making this dream become reality. I am a true architecture lover and was saddened whenever I drove by this place as younger man. God bless you!

Wow!! Thank you for posting such a thorough and current description of what is happening at Lynnewood Hall. I know of the happenings, up to the preservation society. I have seen many a video, from trespasser explorer vids to a great hour documentary by the channel BrosofDecay. Your video is concise and very detailed! With actual pictures of those individuals, both past and present, involved. Bravo!! I look forward to more of your work!!

Cannot wait to see the gardens redone. Hopefully they will be the identical french ones as can be seen in pre-1945 aerial pictures. Only time will tell.

It gives me such a good feeling to see people care about the historic nature in anything and the hard work and beauty that inspired the original creators. To see revived what was lost is amazing and for it to be public will be a extra bonus.

Folk will come from all over the world to see this when it’s restored, it’ll pay for itself in no time.

All the art treasures are at Washington placed in their own gallery dedicated to the Widener Family. The outdoor bronze sculptures (Henry Leon Grabere) are now in Beverly Hills California. The wall sconce are sadly gone in an auction about 12 years ago now. They could be anywhere now and not all together as the series they were 14 total. I have pictures of them from the Auction catalogue. They were bronze doré. Sadly, Philadelphia is becoming a very unsafe city. ……yes, it does matter. Just look up the daily crime Reports, and specify West Oak Lane. The crime here was Macintyre selling off the house treasures. The picture you showed of Oklahoma City Shopping complex is misleading……as if the Lynnwood Hall statuary are now placed there. The only angle you have is to promote Julian Abel as the assistant designer. But first you need a buyer. A Developer will want the land for house, or a Shopping Mall. The house could end up a very interesting shopping Mall, but the rate brick and mortar retail is going, these may no longer be profitable. The new world on the horizon will be hard pressed to see the value in this house. The kids now see this house as an example of capitalistic greed and decadence. I wish you all the luck. I want to wrong, I want to see it all sustainable, I want to see all the elements put back, but if you don’t know a modern day billionaire, I don’t see it happening. I’d secure the roof now, and make it look lived in and tidy it up to look cared for. This will keep away the vandals. McIntyre was a vandal. Vandals come in all shapes and sizes…..and tints.
