As you all know, Pickles are good for gut and it is easier to do at home with just a couple of ingredients.
In our homeland, pickles are made with many green vegetables and usually served with “Nga-Pi-Yay” which is made from fermented fish. Many picked vegetables are available at the wet market or even supermarkets. We Burmese people totally enjoy with the pickles with “Fish fermented liquid” or “Fish pounded paste”.
Some recipes of making pickles are added rinsed rice water, vinegar and salt etc. In my own recipe, “salt” is my favourite and the only ingredient to pickle the vegetables.
Today I am gonna make the “Homemade Pickled Beansprouts and Salad in Burmese style”. It is super easy and delicious. Pickles beansprouts can simply be eaten as a pickled vegetables or making the salad. The pickled salad can be served either a side dish with many rich main dishes such as Briyani, Butter rice with curry chicken etc in Burma or it can only be served with hot rice alone for a meal when you don’t have a taste or want to have a oily dish.
