I just received my pink Lyra today. This is the 3rd one I bought......returned each of the other 2 (one white, one green) not because of color but because I had not seen what this machine is capable of until I found your videos. thank you so much for restoring my faith in the Lyra!

I understand completely! I would have kept it for long either if it hadn’t been for the color! And while that doesn't make much sense to many people, I strongly believe that instruments (especially these ones) should be inspiring, a joy to spend time with. Have fun with it! 🧡

For this piece I literally closed my eyes and went with the current. I didn't even know what I played until I listened back to the recording, I only knew I was very satisfied with the "experience" of the jam, and I knew the result had to be good. Thank you so much 🧡

This is wonderful, I adore your works with Lyra. I was searching for some stuff that would sound more ambient rather than experimental and I found your channel. Subscribed.

That is a great record. She said she made it with samples from a nuclear plant. But I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some Lyra 8 in there.

@@Dexba I really appreciate your tutorials, but let me say that maybe I appreciate even more your performing videos (now that I discovered them). You truly have something. One of my dreams for the future would be to open something like a small performance club for electronic experiments here nearby Milan where I live. Somewhere for live performances exactly like these ones :)

I am very very proud of this jam, it has been a very immersive experience, since I've tried to approach the Lyra like if it was my first time (following the theme of the tutorial). It came from the deeper inside, and I am so glad you like it 🧡

The "Elite" followers of Vlad's Dream. At least i find a user that is not afected by the "inner circle delirium" of Russian "R" in the depiction of the Synth. Vlad is a mastermind of Sovietical University heritage, grandson of Piskunov and the Cience Academy of the 60's. The problem i have with Soma users is their pedancy and "mystic mood" they express, while playing basic patches and sounds that, OK its Vlad's geniality, but why Mushroom talk when we are dealing with Harmonic Progressions of Pulses and Voltage. Interesting is that Russian users are accurate and objective, while Americans or British are to subjective in their reviews. Its like Vlad's deity, yes..."not for everybody not for everybody..." yes yes dude. Good Video 🧏😁🎛🎚🎹

It's been a long time since you've made a video with the Lyra-8. Did you get tired of it? Was it just a momentary thing to play with, quickly replaced by the next exciting toy in the list? Have you sold it or is it sitting on a shelf somewhere? Great music, thank you.
@Dexba Жыл бұрын
That's a great question, and also the question I expected for a while and only now came out (so, thank you!) 1. Have I sold the Lyra? No, I haven't, even though I thought about it a few times; usually, when I think about selling it, I turn it on, fiddle with it for a bit, and don't even realize I've just spent two hours wandering in some extraordinary soundscapes and put it back again. So yeah, we could say it spends a lot of time sitting on a shelf, but every time I take it out I record something that becomes one of the most viewed (and appreciated) recordings here on my channel. 2. Was it momentary? No, it never was. I bought it as a joke because of the funny colour, and it ended up being the key to me making more music. It also got me a ton of views here on KZbin, and while I don't care about those specifically, it definitely hinted to me I was "onto something" and that maybe my music didn't suck and I could be a little prouder, showing it around. So I kept going, and now I am so lucky to be here talking about these things with other passionate people like you. So, thank you Lyra! 3. Did you get tired of it? It depends a lot on the period. I get easily tired of it if I use it too frequently, and while that seems bad, to me is also natural, since I can't stay focused on one single "project" for too long (or I would probably make music on a DAW). Imagine I am even a cellist, but for many reasons (mostly constantly moving from place to place) I hadn’t had time to play the cello for almost 6 years now, but I still love it as when I left it. The constant change of location/house is also why the uploads have been so sporadic 😔 The final thought I have about the Lyra is that every time I record something I try to make it a bit special, a bit of an occasion. You may have noticed that: I try to avoid using the same setup, the same framing, or even the same style, for what I can. With the Lyra, this is something hard to do: being so unpredictable and quirky, I could record a lot and dump everything around carelessly, but that wouldn't satisfy me much, so I decided to keep it on a shelf and use it only when I feel "the Lyra moment" from my heart.

@@Dexba Thank you so much for your reply. Best answer ever, I appreciate it. Please keep on recording and uploading your Lyra adventures, they are great. All the best.

Any plans on getting the Cosmos? They are actually made for each other....
@Dexba2 жыл бұрын
I'd love to! Money is always an object though, and I know it sounds strange to say under a video with a CXM1978, but when I decided to spend that much on a reverb I wanted to get something super versatile for everything I could throw at it. The Cosmos is not that, exactly as the BigSky I sold to get the CXM wasn't that, and that's good if you can own more than one reverb, but unfortunately, I can't. Maybe if I sell the Ornament-8 I could get a Cosmos because I'd really love to have one, only heard amazing stuff coming out of it!
