My first time seeing Rusalka, my immediate thought was if Highmoore raided Mizuki's wardrobe(arknights) and I love her design, witch status( I just love witches period) and of course her song. But what really did it for me is exactly that reaaon, Amber Lee Connors. As someone skipping everything for Furina, I decided to pull for her. Thankfully im just a beginner in the game who doesnt really care about meta, I rerolled 12 times for Priscilla and never got her, but Rusalla took me 3 or so accounts and ive found my main account to get out of reroll hell.(Two of my accounts thst reached 50 pulls for Priscilla both ended up getting Rena, who I love her music and its fitting how I got Priscillas bodyguard twice but not her)

This is a... very interesting rendition of Scarborough Fair. It sounds almost like a Techno remix, but I think probably the best way to describe this song is that it's what Scarborough Fair sounds like underwater. Also, I love how it gets more hectic towards the end. It perfectly portrays the literal storm that is Rusalka's life, her pain, sorrow and anger. ⛈🌧⚡💧

@@highlow5081 someone pointed that out, but usually the laments that take inspiration from other music pieces are those of the Witches of qlipha. So Scarborough fair is probably the inspiration for this one. I think Skuld's one is a unique case, not quite sure why her lament has traces of it.

@@YGMQQ actually, Scarborough Fair took inspiration from folk songs (it’s one of the most popular songs during the 2nd folk music revival), so a lot of later songs which also take inspirations from folk songs would sound like taking inspirations from Scarborough Fair.

@@SquidwardQ.Tentacles899 spoilers, obviously, for her story (I quit playing around the time she came out, so this is from memory lol); She falls in love with the one person who comes to see her every day, since she’s locked in her room by her parents. Because she’s a witch (I believe, was the reasoning) she’s kept isolated from everyone else and she thinks her brother is the only kind soul who ever comes and visits her. At the end of her story she finds out he was only doing it bcs their parents were making him and he always hated her, and she drowns in a lake while lamenting the fact that her love was unrequited. Edit to add in: I really tried to see it as a platonic thing but I’m fairly certain she mentions wanting to have him be her first kiss, so Since I haven’t read it in a few months I’m probably missing some ~intricacies~, but it still makes me feel icky lol
