Thank you for the translation!! Some additional info that I think Wonwoo and Woozi included in the song: Don Quixote in the novel is not just an impractical idealist, but he is also viewed as crazy by everyone. His wild imagination from all the knightly chilvarous books he's read makes him create problems out of nothing, like attacking an inn's waterwell servants because he thinks they're intruders infiltrating the 'castle' (inn). At the same time though, Don Quixote is a character you can't help but root for, as he strives to become the best knight-errant he can be. His actions sometimes do help the people around him, and he lives an adventurous life that no one has ever lived before. As the song repeatedly mentions about making the best out of a fearsome night, I think it relates to this part of the book, as Don quixote makes an inspiring speech to his scared but reasonable sidekick, Sancho. "No matter how much time there may be before dawn," responded Don Quixote," let it be said of me, now, or at any time, that neither tears nor pleas dissuaded me from doing what I am compelled to do as a knight." (ch. 20)

Don Quixote's charm is so great that the novel is remembered for being the first modern novel in history and I think that stands for something hehe

So according to what I googled about Don quixote: Don Quxiote : The hero of a novel by Cervantes who was inspired by lofty and chivalrous but impractical ideals. An impractical idealist. La Mancha’s windmills: The windmills that Don Quixote mistaken as giants in the novels and insists on fighting. In Spain we have to usually read Don Quijote in high school since is one of the most famous books of our literature. Basically, Don Quijote is an old hidalgo who is obsessed with reading books about knights and decides to start and adventure to be one himself. Everyone thinks he's crazy because he lives in his own world, seeing the windmills as giants, for example. Besides the obvious idea of being yourself despite what people would say, I think there's an important message as well, and is that during his adventures, Don Quijote always has Sancho Panza by his side, a friend who, even though he's the oposite as him, decides to stay by his side and take care of him when things, obviously, go wrong because of Don Quijote's fantasies in a world that is far from fantastic. I interpret this song as a whole as being yourself and, although Sancho Panza in not mentioned in the lyrics, Carat being with Seventeen while they do so (or the other way round). At least i think it would be a cute meaning as well!

Omg, there's a lot of references to the book! So basically the story it's about "Don Quixote de La Mancha", which it's not the protagonist real name btw. La Mancha it's the name of the place where everything happens. Don Quixote is an old man "obsessed" with chivalry novels, to the point he went crazy and started to believe he himself was a knight. He decided to go in an adventure trying to find his "Princess Dulcinea", while doing this he took his horse "Rocinante" and his (neighbor) companion "Sancho Panza" with him; his behavior and actions were based of his own interpretation of what chivalry was. He got himself in trouble bc of that. Even if people told him he was crazy, he continued with his adventure and doing what he wanted (even if that hurt him).

I think that the comparison between SVT and Don Quixote is really interesting, not just due to the ideals/reality concept, but also because the crux of the character is that he wants to be/sees himself as a perfect knight - a figure that does not exist. Similarly, SVT are idols - a profession also expected to portray an impossible perfection (in looks, personality, skills etc.)

It's amazing how the song is really exact to the novel Don Quixote and how they made it easier to understand, too. I remember the first time I read the novel because our teacher told us to. At first, the complicated words of the novel made it quite incomprehensible but still, the lesson of the story was understandable. But there were really just parts of it which were quite hard to imagine, especially if you have a narrow vocabulary in english. Anyways, really I'm amazed on how they made the lyrics of the song. If seventeen actually released this song 3 years ago, maybe my teacher would've given me a higher grade for my performance just kidding. Though, I'm glad our teacher made us read Don Quixote (It's funny how I read the name as "Don Kiksowt" before) since the song really hits different when you know what happened in the novel and how you relate it in your/our reality. I feel so good about this song, it makes me nostalgic because I read this book as a homework for school, and it feels amazing to know this story and not hating on Don Quixote in any moment even tho he created some troubles he still did what a lot of us would love to do, to live an adventure just like the books we read, that he also read.
