I truly love how christy's voice fits this song so much. It has full of emotions in it, making the song catch the genuineness of what the grand duchess anastasia herself must've been telling in this scenario if it's a real one

Dianna Lican musical takes on a different approach. It doesn’t have magic elements and In The Dark Of The Night is missing (as so is the character as he’s replaced by a cop). I prefer the musical over the movie as it seems more accurate and the characters are more in depth
@thotman61766 жыл бұрын
Yeah ngl Rasputin as a character in the original movie is all around a pretty silly villain lmao. I love the movie but after re-watching it now, I can't help but cringe at his parts
@natalieglynn78996 жыл бұрын
It’s also not a Disney movie... but I did hear that Disney is buying the rights to the company that produced it so, it might idk....
@annar.t.87986 жыл бұрын
thot man I feel like if he was in the musical, they could have done some really cool things with him as a character. Yeah, he was a little silly and not a very good villain, but his song would have made an amazing stage adaptation.

Not a Disney movie, but made by Disney animation veterans. Don Bluth Animation produced it.

Dancing bears, painted wings Things I almost remember And a song someone sings Once upon a December Someone holds me safe and warm Horses prance through a silver storm Figures dancing gracefully Across my memory Far away, long ago Glowing dim as an ember Things my heart used to know Once upon a December Someone holds me safe and warm Horses prance through a silver storm Figures dancing gracefully Across my memory Far away, long ago Glowing dim as an ember Things my heart used to know Things it yearns to remember And a song someone sings Once upon a December

PLOT QUESTION: AS SOMEONE WHO HAS SEEN THE CARTOON BUT NOT THE MUSICAL does Dimitri still help them escape when they're little? In the cartoon hes a huge part of Anya and her grandmothers escape out the palace and it talks about Dimitri and Anya in a crowd of a thousand faces seeing each other but so far I havent heard mention of the escape part. (BTW thanks if you anwser, I just found out a few days ago one of my favorite childhood cartoon had been turned into a broadway musical.) :)
@gailh79505 жыл бұрын
In the musical he does not help them escape like in the film. In the show he meets Anastasia for the first time at the parade.

This Actress is a better singer in my opinion and she sings it with a lot more emotion than the original. No shade, to each their own.
@pinesmotion-picturespresents7 жыл бұрын
I just find this to be to simple that's all. Like how the movie had the magic of her transforming from her rags to the dress and dancing with her father and stuff. I get that some stuff like that you can't do live but Cinderella has a costume change where she spins and gets a ball gown. It could have been done more 'gracefully' if you know what I mean. But if you like this better that's okay. :)
@nenuphard13167 жыл бұрын
fullmetalchronicle idk this one is sadder, like there's some sort of melancholy there, but I don't really think that makes the animated movie's version less emotional It's only that in the original there were different emotions, it personnally felt to me that the voice actress was smiling as she sang, especially from "someone holds me safe and warm" to "across my memory" you could really hear her smile, as though she was marveling at everything around her, the people coming out of the portraits, the people dancing, idk how to say it you can really feel that this is a very magical, fantastical moment to her Or the way she whispers "dancing bears, painted wings" at the beginning geez gets me everytime her voice sounds amazed and at the same time she's trying to remember I mean Christy Altomare is an AMAZING singer and I absolutely love her, but her version gives off a different vibe. Like Anya she sounds like a big dreamer but I don't think it should be that melancholic however I understand that this Anya and the Anya from the movie are two different characters as both productions give off a very different vibe. The Broadway musical sounds more "serious", here Anya appears as some sort of "tragic princess" in my mind, but I find the childish, hopeful one from the 1997 movie more endearing :) so basically what you said... To each their own
