I know pretty much every Maiden song is about a piece of history or culture. For the life of me , i can't exactly figure this one out. Did he ( Bruce or whoever tbe main character is) come across some voodoo practitioners? Would make sense, but he says he's in the Everglades. That's in southern Florida. I wasn't aware it was a hotspot for " voodoo* of course i could be totally wrong.

@@AdamRanke-k2r So just to clarify, I unintentionally misinformed you by stating it was written around the Salem Witch Trial period (Sorry I had a couple of drinks 😅). Nathaniel Hawthorne is the great-great grandson of John Hawthorne. John Hawthorne was one of the judges that oversaw the Salem Witch trials. Still, if you look up "Dance of Death" lyrics, there is another person that stated the story of "Young Goodman Brown" brought imagery of what Iron Maiden wrote/got inspiration from.
