Thank you for an interesting and helpful interview. One missing component was the deeper spiritual side of this issue. On the one hand, God’s faithfulness is emphasized throughout scripture, meaning he always keeps his promises and he is always truthful. So the characteristics of trustworthiness are based on the character of God. On the other hand, Satan is the “father of lies” (Jn.8:44) and is the very opposite of both faithful and truthful. We feel betrayed and trust is broken most often when someone breaks promises or is deceptive toward us, whereas faithfulness in someone’s behavior builds trust. Interestingly enough, there are 365 commands about honesty, integrity, and keeping promises in the scriptures (give or take a few), which is a clear indication of the high value God places on being trustworthy. Unfortunately, many believers frequently behave more like Satan than God. But wouldn’t it be helpful to this discussion to explore how God responds when his people are unfaithful? How did Jesus Christ respond when he was betrayed and trust was broken? I haven’t read the book yet, but perhaps those are all topics she deals with in the book. Thank you again for a thought-provoking interview.

This definitely was not helpful when it comes to spiritual abuse and how rampant the pattern is being exposed. I do appreciate the one pastor guy recognizing that towards the end. I don't trust the institution of churchianity because it has proven itself untrustworthy. It's not built on Christ. It's built on man and man's ideals and traditions, or worse. It's so worldly. It reflects nothing of what Jesus commanded us to do. Make disciples of Christ. Instead, we make proselytes of a system, a stage, the ever so demanding "sermon," this dependence on this false security, and we worship it. What we are doing very much reflects the Harlot in Revelation and not the Bride of Christ. As the LORD says: "My people, come out of her." There has been spiritual abuse in the old and new Testament(Jesus flipped tables over it) and read the New Fox's Book of Martyers. Churchianity was constantly persecuting free followers of Christ who no longer conformed to the Harlot. Our identity shouldn't be of what denomination we belong to or being under this pastor or that leader(1 Cor. 3:4), but our identity needs to be single heartedly in Christ. He's the Head of His Body...not the denomination, ideals, or charismatic leader. The simplicity of local believers alongside fellow believers at eye level. In a circle/ no stage. Submitting to one another. With servant leading men who have a heart for the spiritual and practical needs of their fellow blood bought brothers and sisters in Christ. They have this heart because the Lord discipled them in their own homes first. He taught them how to be faithful in the little things. The Body working/functioning together to glorify God as He designed it. (Fellowship and gathering together will look unique in different regions of the world.) The system and machine of churchianity distorts and renders much of the Body unfunctional at worst and assembly workers at best. It's so greivious! I praise the God of Salvation that despite these cults and systems, His word has not returned to Him void. He finds lost sheep everywhere, in spite of our misplaced worship and dependency. What will it take for the Western world to be followers of Jesus? I see glimpses of it. I see the beautiful giftings of believers loving each other here and there. I also hear a lot of noise from the system (1 Corinthians 13). I was noisy myself. How will the world know we are His disciples? By our love towards the brethren. The box and bondage of the system is not love. It is not our Savior. It is a never-ending hard task master. And Jesus promised that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 #saynotoBUSY #BeingUnderSatansYoke
