Lytro Light Field Camera

I just got mine two days ago and I must say it feels good in the hand and while the quality of the photos isnt too high it's a LOT of fun and the camera works very well. The tech behind it is amazing! Not my main camera by a long shot but truly a great adition to photogs everywhere!

@ALL7CAPS I don't think you have to worry, I think it's a viable technology that can be used to improve upon what's already there. Imagine having only one shot of something that you wished had better focus when you took it... I see the bigger camera companies harnessing this tech and using it in their own devices and software, but in the meantime it's just a novelty that needs to catch on.

@G83Photography thanks, yeah it is strange looking camera, but i think normal consumers will fall over to get one, its different and that always seems to sell, personally not my cup of tea but i can see why people would like such a thing.

i'd love to have one cuz its small and easy to carry around also stylist, but lacking of slot for sd card holds me back a lil of this baby (quite pricey also but i think it worth it)

@ALL7CAPS thinking your a pro and being one are worlds apart, no modern tech will put pro's out of business because no matter how good the camera is its the know how and skills behind the camera that make all the difference

yeah there cool i had a chance to play with one a little while back, not going to set the world on fire picture IQ wise but its not meant too its not aimed to be that type of camera, fun and interest is where its aimed add and for that its ticks all the boxes :)

@ALL7CAPS true to a degree but really its aimed at the consumer market for happy snapping without worrying not really a photographers tool interesting toy to play with but not really my cup of tea

@TheMichiStichi true, besides the camera you use does not guarantee good pictures its the eye behind the camera, buy a 5k dslr doesn't mean you will have great pictures, ive seen some amazing pictures taken on an iPhone.

Everyone who realized that any near term use of the Lytro's focus after the fact gimmick was just that, & wasn't going to be seen included in any conventional camera any time soon was correct. A full 1 1/2 years after this video was uploaded, & the most exciting news is that this "after the fact focusing" gimmick may indeed see the light of day, but only as a cellphone app bankrolled by a $20M (USD) cash infusion by Nokia of a Lytro rival from Pelican Imaging.

@vn01208503 yeah def a cool little camera, not for me but i understand there will be plenty of people that do want it or buy it that fact its different alone will entice people to buy and add in the fun fact of people playing with your photo's on likes of Facebook means it will sell well, no additional SD card type slot is poor judgement in my opinion!
