The biggest changed made in this episode is the name of Hondo car. When he got the car and the few times that Buddy Hawk got to drive it, the car was called Nightstalker. This time when Hondo is selected the car is referred to as Hurricane which everyone who knows everything about this series and the toys that was the name of the toy version of what was originally referred to as Nightstalker.

Well Venom obviously got out of there as there are later episodes so they pretty much won this battle, I mean MASK left them there with all the treasure, I would have to assume they stole everything after escaping, they could easily get rid of all the scorpions since they still have their masks and vehicles outside.

I agree mostly. But wouldn't MASK take VENOM's vehicles? Must contain valuable info about their adversary. Even if they didn't care about the intel, why leave them for the enemy? Better to at least destroy the vehicles so nobody can use them. Maybe MASK is a bunch of goody-two-shoes? I can imagine Matt saying "We can't destroy the vehicles, that would be vandalism. And we can't take the vehicles, that would be stealing. So we have to leave them for VENOM to use when they escape..." (Sorry for over-thinking a cartoon plot!)

Matt would possibly be implying 'VENOM might be our enemies, but if we destroy or take their vehicles, we're no better than VENOM is' (in that destroying or stealing VENOM's vehicles would just make MASK initiate doing all the bad things VENOM does; as the leader of MASK, Matt Trakker's experienced enough to know the saying 'two wrongs don't make a right').

@@shermanvermin76 Unlikely. MASK have been shown to destroy VENOM vehicles in numerous other episodes. This story just had a badly written ending.

Wizel Balan I have to disagree. Yes, they obviously made it out, but then how would they have gotten back in? And the scorpions were so easy to get rid of, they would've done so while still inside. Not only that, who's to say the scorpions were the only "guardians"? Venom won? Hardly. They're lucky to have escaped, much less with all the loot.

The oddest thing about this episode is that Matt goes from his Thunderhawk suit to his Rhino suit. He also some how ends up with Utraflash with him.

This one is a favorite of mine for many reasons. I think what's interesting is we see Ultraflash actually be used, as Matt didn't use it much in the cartoon series. I wish I knew though if his third one (Lava Shot, used in Volcano) was actually ever used in the series.

Yes Lava Shot was used a few times toward the end of the series. It start to make an appearance when Volcano Van started showing up.

Wow, that scorp mech wrecked the town. A little kid was living on his own for six days? 🤨 New villain, & mask change for Hondo. Matt's seen giant bugs and birds & an amoeba monster, but can't believe in the scorpion. 🙃 Humor's fun, but it would've made more sense just to put the weight on the floor.😐 Close call for Matt & Bruce, crushed in the car. Unsual open ending w/Venom & scorps. Wild ep. 🙂

I've finally found an outfit where Miles Mayhem looked like a Sergeant - his 'VENOM's Revenge' outfit (one of the four 'Adventure Packs', and where he came with a jetpack, rather than a vehicle) [and his mask power was 'Ripper', which, as implied by the name, literally ripped metal]. I'm still aware of the rumours that there was to have been a third series, of the cartoon, after the racing series (series 2), where he'd have worn this outfit in the cartoon. I'm well aware his Switchblade outfit (which he wore in season 1, of the cartoon) [and his mask power was 'Viper', which shot acid] made him look like a General. His Buzzard outfit (which he wore in season 2 - the racing series - and his mask power was 'Flexor', which created a barrier, hence was - rhyme unintended - more used for defence, rather than attacking) made him look like a Colonel (as a General's a very high rank, he'd have to have been demoted, possibly from all his defeats to MASK, by the time the racing series came to air, as a Colonel's a lower rank than a General). He'd definitely have to have worn his 'VENOM's Revenge' outfit *after* the racing series, as he'd have to have been demoted for a second time, since a Sergeant's a lower rank than a General and a Colonel (Sergeant's the lowest of these three ranks, where Colonel's the middle).

Possibly you haven't seen my comments (which I've now began saying, as to *why* I say 'his Buzzard outfit, which he wore in season 2 - the racing series - made him now look like a Colonel, and, had we gotten a season 3, and he'd have worn his VENOM's Revenge outfit, and that outfit making him now look like a Sergeant') [and, needless to say, which is definite, his Switchblade outfit, which he wore in this season of the cartoon - season 1 - made him look like a General] - this is (for myself) to *deflect* how people feel about how they didn't like the racing series (series 2) as much (I'm aware how much fans of this show would have HATED this third season, hence the racing series was the last one, and, of course, fans would have detested Miles Mayhem's VENOM's Revenge outfit, and much preferred his Switchblade outfit]. What I mean, above, by my comment, is, by thinking about how Miles Mayhem can look like a Colonel (in his new Buzzard gear) and a Sergeant (in his new VENOM's Revenge gear, especially had he worn that outfit in the MASK cartoon), *this* is what 'deflects' how I used to really hate the racing series (and, fortunately, I can now see these two, newer outfits, of Miles Mayhem's, in a more positive light, than I used to). Saying he looked like a Colonel (in his new Buzzard gear), and he looked like a Sergeant (in his new VENOM's Revenge gear) [as well as looking like a General, in his Switchblade gear] gives me the ability to associate him with all three members of the 1991 short lived heel WWF three man tag team 'the Triangle of Terror' (comprising Colonel Mustafa, Sergeant Slaughter and General Adnan). I don't know if I told you *this* - my (yes, literally only two) only two favourite characters are Alex Sector and Miles Mayhem (at least I've one favourite MASK agent, and one favourite VENOM agent). I only like Alex Sector's outfit he wore in season 1 (as the owner of Boulder Hill, and, yes, I know I'm quoting the MASK computer, when it selected whatever MASK agents - vehicles-wise, was the 'Rhino systems commander') - I *never* liked his 'Collector' gear (which he wore in season 2 - the racing series). I don't like Max Mayhem (even if he's Miles Mayhem's brother) [nor do I like the Drone, even if it was part of 'Buzzard']; I'm definitely not a fan of the character Ali Bombay (the way he was part of the racing series didn't help), and, if there are any outfits of Miles Mayhem I *definitely* don't like, it's his Outlaw gear. I even thought of including about his 'demotions' (when he changes from a General to a Colonel, after the last season 1 episode - 'Raiders of the Orient Express', and by the time season 2 - the first episode 'Demolition Duels to the Death' - comes to air, and, had we gotten this planned, new third season, of the MASK cartoon, after the racing series, where he'd be changing from a Colonel to a Sergeant) - they could be after all his defeats to MASK! You could say 'I know my ranks' (in that a General's the highest rank of the three - Colonel's the middle, in that it's lower than a General, but higher than a Sergeant, whereas Sergeant's the lowest of these three ranks).

Yes, this show did use a limited voice cast (much like He-Man and ThunderCats) [and unlike Visionaries]. It definitely wouldn't have used a gigantic voice cast, like Transformers or G.I. Joe (and, like Transylvania Pet Shop, would have had a limited voice cast). I'd say even the 90s DiC post-movie G.I. Joe cartoon had a reasonably large voice cast (much like the original 80s Sunbow pre-movie G.I. Joe cartoon). Oh, and even Inhumanoids didn't have a limited voice cast.
