The live action and donghua are both good in their own way. Donghua has a beautiful animation and Lan Zhan´s character is more interesting. His look fits better and he talks more. In Live-action he´s just way too quiet. But at the same time, Live-action isn´t as rushed as anime. It explains everything better and has more Wangxian moments. I also like Wei Ying´s look in it more than in donghua.

I prefer the live action since it was my first contact with mdzs. I have read a bit of the novel and watched a few episodes from the donghua, and at the moment I still prefer The Untamed, because for me I can feel better their emotions and feelings in it and I like the changes they did on the story line. The animation in the donghua is gorgeous but to me it feels a bit rushed and I prefer way more LWJ and WWX personalities in the live action, cause Wei Ying seems smarter and more kind hearted.

Not rushed. You mean that they couldnt have every scene of the novel so they did anything they could to fit as much content as possible in 15 episodes (at first). But the animation is so well done it must have took them at least a couple of years to perfect

I think the characters I like way better in the live action, the way they act, their facial expressions etc. It's not something that's easily done in an anime. But the anime has better special effects obviously since those kinds of things are harder to film and do in real life with a budget

I first watched the live action, then read the novel. Both are really wonderful. After watching Untamed, Xiao Zhan became my favorite Chinese actor and still now, he is my number 1 Chinese actor. But as a MDZS version, I think donghua is the best. Because it is very convenient to understand the deep story in MDZS novel by watching donghua. Also it shows Lan wangji's true feelings and affections towards Wei Wu Xian. It shows the different between wei wuxian's 16 years ago appearance and after appearance clearly. Also I like how it combined colours. Donghua is so colourful and characters appearance are quite beautiful.

yes becaue the fight scenes in Anime is far more better than the live actions, its just that The production of the Ubtamed is Very cheap, and In anime they included lots of skinship, But The I love all The Casts in the Untamed, I can feel Their love Through their Eyes and actions

@@kimv1987 The live-action ver. of MDZS doesn't have a lot of skinship or scenes that were in the original novel due to the anti-LGBTQ laws in China, for that reason, The Untamed doesn't show a love relationship but just a normal friendship. The fight scenes on the drama are the same as in movies or other chinese series, they're not cheap, that's just how they make those; of course the fight scenes on the animation are going to be much better since it's, as I said, animation.

Actually we are unsure if they well end up together like that in the Anime, since season 2 is still in episode 6, However, some are saying they will have that kind of relationship in season 3.

As a novel reader I can say I like them both equally. I think the donghua is better in CGI and fight scenes, but I prefer timeline in the live action.
