C'est avec ce son que j'ai découvert Médine en 2004. 10 ans plus tard, il est toujours aussi sensationnel! Les albums "11 septembre" et Djihad resteront dans la légende! Big up Din Records. Peace.

Can anyone tell me what this song means in english? I love the song but can't really tell what he is saying since i speak little french.

That's the story of a father who's quitted his country for France to find better living conditions. He had one son and one daughter and was waiting to be rehoused with his wife. Medine basically tells the story of this man, telling us that he was a painter (in building sites) and that he was fired. So he had very harsh living conditions. Then appeared 2 more children. They got placed in an apartment in the "Vicent Auriol" avenue but that apartment was very old (1991 I think) : he says that the framework could be burned really fast if there was fire because it wasn't equipped with extinguisher etc... Then when you can hear the women journalist, she said that one of his sons has been bitten by a rat. The kid says "It was up here after it came here after it jumped here after it bit me " Then, he picture the family, with the father on the sofa hearing the children's quarell, and went he went to see what was happening, he saw a black smoke coming from the next apartment and heard a women screaming. So he started fearing because he knew that the apartment would be burned in no time, and he started searching for his children because he couldn't see them with this smoke. Then he shouted ""Ne bougez pas ! J'appelle les combattants du feu Car papa n'est pas assez fort pour sauter dans le feu" which means : "Don't move, i'm calling the firefighters because dad isn't strong enough to jump into the fire" that can be interpretated with a huge helplessness and despair feeling. 10 minutes passed, and nobody came. He says that his life was gone in a fraction of second when the roof fell on his family, and that it was his coffin, his provisary city. "Vincent Auriol" that's the name of it's avenue. In the last sentences you can hear : 15 years, 17 persons sacrificed. 14 children perished on the pyre. The atrocity of death often makes things happen Because now they'll be housed under the roses. (The only real house they found since they were born is that coffin full of roses) And at the end, he liststhe families' names, because they were all blacks and coming from ancient french colonies. (That has played a large role in the priority of the rescue in my opinion) Sorry for bad english, hope you will understand a bit more that song. And don't forget to listen to the others songs of Medine like "Enfant du Destin - David - Daoud - Sou-Han - Petit cheval" He's a really talented artist =)
