I've had 5 sleep studies for a few reasons. At the 2 week consultation, I swear this is true, the head of the sleep clinic started our session together by saying the following, hello Kavita, I have to say I cannot believe you haven't blown your head off. You are having 75 micro arousals per hour. I don't know how you are alive. This is the highest amount of micro arousals I have EVER seen. Not only did I have the worst case of insomnia, I also have full body severe restless leg syndrome. Thinking that I had that for 10 years and I didn't kill myself was a miracle. Thank you Johnny

@@kimbuck-2 hi Kim so sorry to hear that you have to pay that much money for a sleep study I don't know why I never paid a penny and that angers me so much that you may need to sleep study and not be able to do it the question that you asked is really important to do it or is it worth it I'm going to be honest with you, if you know that you have a problem getting are or you're having nightmares about choking and you can't get any are and then you wake up gasping all the time then yes you need to find out, if you know that you have a problem getting are or you're having nightmares about choking and you can't get any air and then you wake up gasping all the time then yes you need to find out because it's not just apnea that make people wear CPAP machines for me it saved my life I wasn't getting enough oxygen and the dreams or I should say nightmares I had for 10 solid years were about me not being able to get enough air it was horrible the fact was I wasn't getting enough air the minute I put the CPAP on the nightmares never came back so if you are having troubles that you know of and a CPAP would be a treatment for that just get the CPAP but I don't think your insurance would give it to you without a sleep study. Also the study gives a lot of information to the technician who gives it to the doctor and so in that sense yes I think it is worth it is it worth 750 if you don't have it I don't know I really don't know I wish I could give you so much more better answers and encourage you in the right also the study gives a lot of information to the technician who gives it to the doctor and so in that sense yes I think it is worth it is it worth 750 if you don't have it I don't know I really don't know I wish I could give you so much more better answers and encourage you in the right way but I don't know how for me I had such problems with sleep it was unbelievable now my restless leg syndrome is gone but I am on a protocol that a lot of doctors I would say 99% of every doctor has told me they won't put me on the meds I take. I've been very blessed to have doctors that has continued giving me what I have been taking for now 20 years and finally finally I have found a doctor who specializes in restless leg syndrome especially the kind I have which is so severe if I wasn't medicated I would definitely have to take my life. I hope your situation is not near as drastic as that so please feel free to let me know and I will respond back all the best to you it's a horrible thing not getting sleep

I’ve been taking Somac in the evening for pain and depression. It has helped. I’m still struggling during the day. After seeing other people’s videos taking severe to mild symptoms, I’d categorize myself as a moderate. Sleep is still an issue. Sometimes even with the Somac, I’ll sleep 4 hours ands wake up in the night

I was diagnosed with ME in 2020 and then autism spectrum disorder in 2023. Both come with frequent insomnia. After four years of barely sleeping, I was put on Ambien. It's been amazing to finally get some decent sleep. Doesn't change the fact that it's unrefreshing, though. You know those people who say they never get hangovers? I think they send them all to us!

Ya I’m glad you’re talking about this because I’m struggling with insomnia more than ever lately now that I’m in perimenopause..worst thing is that when I try and eat healthy and cut out the crap carbs and sugar I can’t sleep 😢

Please turn to God to help you get through this awful illness. Struggling for 7 years now. The insomnia was worse the first few years then improved abit but I still have weekly days of terrible sleep which makes me cry and struggle to live life. We must keep trying to find the cause of this. I am going to try organic food soon and packing more, mindset everything I can to improve my life.

Got any recommendations on how to increase your deep sleep? I rarely get over 20% deep sleep and on bad days I'm lucky to get 10%
@Anchor74 ай бұрын
For someone who sleeps 8 hours a little over 1 hour of "deep sleep" is actually pretty solid. Then there is REM and light sleep.
@thatpandaz60944 ай бұрын
@@Anchor7 In that case I guess it's fine. It's usually on the 1 hour mark. But my watch doesn't track REM unfortunately :/

What is the purpose of tracking your sleep with a FITBIT? How can it help?
@fight4me7474 ай бұрын
If you are trying different medications, sleep habits etc you can see what is helping you. A fitbit can track when you are "awake" even though you are not consciously awake. So its a few more data points to see where you are at.

My sleep rhythm is completely disrupted at times. I'm currently going to bed later and later because I can't sleep. And the fact that I don't wake up refreshed has been the case for years; I always thought it was just normal in the course of life. I usually get up after 6 to 8 hours of sleep - and lie down again an hour later because I'm completely exhausted. Then I get palpitations, circulatory problems, aches and pains everywhere - and get up again... This happens several times a day. Yes. The insomnia is really bad. And also that you're basically never really rested.

Insomnia with my ME/CFS is so hard. I could stay awake all day without a nap just so I can sleep better at night but I’ll still be awake all night. A lot of times I end up awake for like 38 or more hours

Quality sleep... what's that? Huge issue for me. I often go days or weeks on only a couple of hours sleep a night. Feel like a zombie all day and then can't sleep at night. Then I get exploding head syndrome, a type of sensory hallucination. Sometimes it sounds and feels like a bomb went off in my head. If I want quality sleep I have to sleep during daytime hours.
