Eat Hilsha Fish Fry at Mawa ghat Restaurant:
Mawa Ghat is one of the popular area for fish fry lovers especially Hilsha fish fry.. Here the whole day, this ghat restaurants go slow, where at night people from different part of the country come here to taste fresh fishes that come from nearby downstream padma river. Every restaurant has cooking option, The fun part is here to buy raw hilsha fish from restaurant with lot of bargaining in respect of prrice and also quality & size of fish. The shoppers always try to push low qualit fish to customers,specifically new customers.. After buying they ask you if you want to eat in their restaurant or not. After fixing the price, they will cut and clean the fish in front of the customer , also while frying customers can observe the steps and can guide the chef according to their taste and also mishandling of cut fish. .
Mostly the hilsa fry with steam rice is popular here, they use one of the best mustard oil , which adds extra taste to the fish, also the eggplant fry,mashed Fish tail with fried red chillies, onions other spices.
While eating food in the restaurant near the bank of Padma river, a natural cold neat & clean wind from river gives the customer a pleasant atmosphere.
Bangladesh's national fish, hilsa or "Ilish," "ইলিশ" is a highly esteemed fish recognised for its remarkable flavour, cultural relevance, and economic value. Ilish is a culinary treat that appeals to the taste buds of many Bangladeshis and is recognised as a symbol of national cuisine because of its delicious flavour and soft texture.
Recently we visited the mawa ghat in the daytime. We saw all the restaurants there were crowded at that time . We were confused about where to eat. Ultimately checking the reviews of prominent food bloggers, we decided to eat at Nirala restaurant.
The Hilsha fish we bought after a long time checking and bargaining, it was good enough. But their cooking style to fry fish & to mashed fish tail was not so tasty. After eating, we came back after a long time of eating.That was a good experience.
