隊長感想
滑水龍過去9星期每星期練習都爆船。令我最驕傲係比賽日完全冇外援，淨靠自己隊嘅實力扒到上上線。比起舊年求其搵位坐比賽入金碗，到今年每個禮拜跟磅數排位，入到銅碟決賽，我都想紀錄這一點點嘅進步。當然，實力上仲有好多進步嘅空間。
感激UWAAHK 校友會會長Dominic 及校隊經理Danny，校友Richard借出遊艇, 冇你哋加持我地係零。Ian 同 Aaron 兩位副隊長（我話你係就係啦，就算你幾唔願意都好🤣）：多謝你哋比賽前同埋當日安排食物，編排座位，主動去加操。再次多謝每一位好搞笑但又熱血嘅隊友，教練駝手們，就今季小妹心存感激🙏🏻
借用我一位跑步教練嘅金句，希望大家好好珍惜可以一齊操龍嘅日子。當經歷人生唔同階段，不論健康工作家庭負擔，生活都未必容許我地可以再一齊組隊操龍。希望你今季扒得開心，往後選擇繼續就龍舟運動各自修行。有機會我哋再合體！
Captain's Remarks
This year's Waterloo Warriors had a full boat every practice for the past nine weeks. What I am most proud of is the fact that we needed no substitutes on race day and reached the top tier relying solely on the strength of our own team members. Compared to last year when we just randomly grabbed seats in the boat and raced in the gold bowl, this year we planned seating around body weights and raced in the bronze plate final. Of course, there is still a lot of room for improvement, but this tiny bit of progress is what I wanted to state for the record.
Thank you to UWAAHK Alumni Association President Dominic, team manager Danny, alumni Richard Chan for lending us your yacht and for your continuous support without which this team would not have happened. To Ian and Aaron, our two vice-captains (you are deemed as such even if you don't want to be🤣): Thank you for taking the initiative to do extra practices, arranging for our food, and planning seats for the races. Thanks again to every one of our hilarious yet passionate teammates, coach and steersman. I am forever grateful for this season. 🙏🏻
Referencing one of my running coaches’ saying, I hope everyone will cherish the days when we can paddle together. Because life goes through different stages, be it health, work or family burdens, life does not always allow us to paddle as a team together. I hope you had fun this season and will choose to continue your dragon boat journey in your own way. And when the time comes and fate allows us, let’s paddle together again!
