KeybladeKnight14 different isn’t my problem the characters are walking talking clechaes and you can predict the ending easily from seeing almost any other story.... in general.the only character with depth other than “well I guess that is solved” development is ulsalia who showed lots of depth, the story felt like a slog and lacked creativity.... starting world, fire world, ice world, black final world where you face a good guy turned bad.... it is basically a Mario story

I can't say it was your fault, they hand't announced this at the time of doing the western PC port, though NIS and NISA would of known so it was *very* dirty on their part. Though with IFI and Fairy Fencer and FFF if people had just paid attention to the Japanese side they'd of known and not been ripped off.

Huh?? Did they really only update the character sprites and the User Interface? Why are the Special animations the same from the original game? And the old throwing mechanics are back?? I would have expected this to have the same gameplay as Disgaea 5 or D2. No updates to the cutscenes, stages, or the Dark Assembly Senate either. Come on, Nippon Ichi, I thought this was supposed to be a Remake. This is just lazy as shit, I'm very disappointed. If you were gonna do this little you were better off just porting the PSP version to the PS4 and Switch, but I imagine people are sick of ports by now. It's like they just took the PSP version, updated the sprites, and called it a day, rather than just giving it modern graphics/animations with the same gameplay as Disgaea 5 or D2, or all new gameplay mechanics altogether. This is their best Disgaea game and THIS is how they try to Remake it?? Such potential wasted..

The whole game, gameplay wise, sucks compared to the newer entries, a lot. Honestly, this is mostly a cash grab for people with nostalgia and that, for some reason, didn't get any of the previous 6 versions that are already out. (PS2, PS3, PSP, NDS, PS Vita, PC) Disgaea is pretty much NIS's Skyrim, soon we'll see it ported to the Atari.

TaigaGaoo I myself don't particularly mind Disgaea 1 HD/Refine/Complete/Whatever it will be in German/etc. It's not really about well it stands up, Disgaea 1 is a great game but it definitely needs all the newer mechanics and basically everything in 5. I'll still buy the game as I can barely play the original and my biggest complaint is how slow it is which is seemingly fixed.

Fucking knew this was coming! Sure it *looks* like a cash grab, but really I feel is more of an acknowledgement that Disgaea as it is looks terrible and graphically dated even with vsynch. I'm not mad about the lack of updated mechanics because the chunkiness, while tedious, makes the game what it is. The only thing that annoys me is I bought Disgaea PC against my better judgement. That in my eyes was the real cash grab. They shouldn't have put the original on PC if they were just going to update it soon anyway. It reminds me of the time Square announced Birth by Sleep Final Mix right after the original game came out. A huge middle finger to everyone who bought the inferior version of the game.
