Bekos was the word for Bread in Phrygian. Maybe the last name survived. Phrygians crossed from Europe into Asia Minor about 1200 BC. Maybe related to Thracians. They were known to be excellent musicians and had several instruments of their own. Byzas was the name of the Thracian leader who settled the place later called Byzantium.
