Did you know that Mel Bonis taught herself the piano, in a rather hostile family context? She started with the formal musical education at the age of twelve thanks to their family friends, Monsieur Maury, a professor at the prestigious Conservatoire.

I’m so glad you discovered her! It’s never too late to dive into her work. Have you listened to any other pieces by her?
