That's a good cafe/restaurant you pass at 10:47, well good for Thai green curry. I used it when I chose to stay at D-Appartments a little before Soi Buakhao. Which I thought you were about to pass, but then you turned off to head to the M&M bar.

@@cheapdavetravels Yes Dave I know mate. I rented a scooter this time last year for the first time since 2012, as it was low season and the roads were less manic and took a good look about the place. There's thousands of little side streets that I'd never considered checking out on foot, but with a scooter it's far quicker and the bars and restaurants I never knew existed were staggering. I've been holidaying in Pattaya particularly since Feb 2007 and didn't realise how much it had expanded! I guess that's what occurs when you limit yourself to a particular area for a long period of time. My 1st visit was spent at The Flipper Lodge hotel in Soi 8 near Beach Rd, so my days were spent in the pool or over to Koh Larn and my night's were between Soi 7&8, Pattaya Klang, Beach Rd and Walking Street. I got immediately addicted and returned twice the same year and eventually discovered LK Metro way before it became A-go-go Central and along with it obviously the nightlife of Soi Buakhao, New Plaza etc. My cousin tried to get me to visit far earlier like about 2001- ish and why I didn't go earlier is criminal. A good friend of mine worked aboard The QE2 and first told me about Pattaya in 1985! As the crew were allowed ashore for a couple days or so and the stories he'd tell us as young lads used to blow our minds. Therefore I always wanted to visit there and it might've taken me 22 years, but I got there eventually and have spent at least 2 years there in 15 trips since Feb '07 and I did boycott it from 2015- Xmas 2022 due to a British girlfriend that I'd been on and off with for 12-13 years, but now we're over very recently too, I'm up for selling up and retiring early and forgetting about my miserly British pension. Let the deceitful government keep it. I'm sure the proceeds of the house will see me out.👍

Great directions from 3rd Road to M&M 👍🏻 saves me running the Soi buakhao gauntlet when there in a couple of weeks 👌🏻

In-between where the road splits off to the left & 3rd road is an excellent Thai family run restaurant. Many Thai people day & night so you know it is good food, don't just take my word for it. Very good prices too.
