I was raised as a Mormon from birth and served as a missionary in Taipei in the mid-80s. I loved the Church back then and felt very thankful for the wonderful experiences and many wonderful members I met. As I grew older and wiser, I learned how foolish and false Mormon doctrine is. As a gay person, I also learned there was no true love or acceptance of gays in The Mormon Church. As part of my enlightenment, I spent many years unlearning the Mormon falsities I internalized as a youth and young adult. Although I left The LDS Church over 20 years ago, I still treasure and appreciate the wonderful members I met, the music I sang and the memories I made while I was a Mormon. The Church is false, but there are many good people in it.

I'm very sure that there are good people in every religion. My sister's family is a very dedicated Christian family. Many Christians are still trying to find a way to fit in the religion. I can imagine the struggle but as long as they are happy with their choices. I'm glad that you had your good experience and can live the life that you want now. That's a blessing.

@ambarvalia9757 Thanks for your reply and question. I consider myself an agnostic today. The origins of Christianity are of dubious origins to me now, as I have been enlightened to more considerable information and knowledge in the past two decades. I attended a local branch of the Community of Christ church many times a decade or so ago, as the pastor was someone I thought I could trust. Instead, after several years of sharing his acquaintance, which included meals, conversations and singing, he turned out to be a groomer, who was attracted to me. Upon my romantic rejection of him, he exacted his revenge upon my love interest at the time. The pastor diabolically lured my love interest using money, a vehicle to drive (knowing he was an unlicensed driver) and enabled him to use crystal meth (which the pastor recently confessed that he also tried himself while enticing my love interest). You are probably aware that the name 'Community of Christ' is a new name adopted by the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints aka 'RLDS'. After befriending and learning more about this church and its origins and doctrine, it appeared to me that the RLDS offshoot had evolved into a mainstream regurgitation, similar to any of the tens of thousands of Protestant sects around the world (as you mentioned). That being said, there were many wonderful, kind and faithful members in their diminutive congregation. I wouldn't hesitate to return to occasionally fellowship with them, save for their pastor.

What an interesting guest, Teacher Shen! Colors' experiences prove you will find LGBT+ persons in every walk of life. I hope he is able to reconcile his spirituality and his orientation to reach psychological well-being. His story reminded me of the well known gay film, Latter Days, all about a Mormon missionary who finally reconciles his faith and orientation. It's worth watching if you haven't seen it before. Keep up the good work, Teacher Shen! All the best! 💯👍

Colors is very happy with his boyfriend. I'm glad that he gets to live his life happily now with the choices he makes for himself. I used to be a Catholic myself but I'm happy to be a spiritual person without any religion attached. As a gay person, I have to find a way to live my life with the rest of the world. I'm lucky to live in a country that I could make these choices. Some gay people can't and that's sad. Thank you for supporting my channel.
