It's a shameful for yoruba's in nigeria play politics and forget their heritage. No any imported religious leaders will try that nonsense in my country. In bénin republic 🇧🇯 we have public holiday for vodou Festival every 10th of January and it must be working day. Since 1996 we have been celebrating it. Our fathers seeing this kind of problems coming, and they fought for it and governments implemented public holiday for all vodou to be honoured.

Its not forgotten but the influence of foreign religion is very strong in nigeria. Fortunately some Yoruba states like Ogun, Osun, Oyo last year gave a public recognition to Vodou/Isese traditional religion by approving a public holiday
