卓依婷、王杰和王韵婵、罗时丰等歌星都曾翻唱此歌 華語原唱是 翁倩玉 祈禱的原曲為日本民謠"竹田の子守唄" 竹田(Takeda)地區位於日本兵庫縣中北部山區，現屬兵庫縣朝來市，有日本百大名城之一的竹田城遺址。 "竹田の子守唄"為竹田地區傳統的搖籃曲，最早的曲譜大約在1950~60年代從竹田地區傳出，由日本民謠樂團"赤い鳥"採集改編並於1969年公開演出，1971年發行專輯，大賣百萬張，但卻因為牽涉到對於少數民族的不平等待遇而遭禁，至1990年才解禁。 歌詞描寫大阪與京都一帶的"部落民"，即日本的少數民族(日本目前最佔優勢的民族是大和民族，即一般最常見的日本人)，因受到不平等待遇而生活困苦的境遇，歌詞與旋律都瀰漫著哀愁，這也解釋了為何"祈禱"聽起來總是有那麼一點點的哀傷。
