3:27 shabondama's line distribution was not fair at all so them singing in harmony was the best they could do especially when you consider that they would fight for most lines/center spot back then

It's a good point, singing in harmony is something that allows all members to shine, also they are using this kind of distribution in recent singles. But I really enjoy that all the members could have a solo line in each single, even when is just a 2 seconds line (just like Asami in Shabondama 😂), that gives all of them a certain kind of individuality.

I like shabondama the most, it's just that the "ai" shouts on the song seems too frequent and unnecessary.

Just for your information, Go girl was a theme song for a TV drama focusing on futsal. The soccer outfit was probably used for commercial reasons. Take a look at the Wikipedia page (and a translation of the Japanese page). I know this won't change your opinion. Every person's opinion should be respected.

i agree with most of these especially 2. i actually love A Gonna but your reasons are totally valid. Also, Hyokkori Hyoutanjima is a cover of the same song from the 60’s but it should’ve gone to Mini Moni

Koi ha Hassou！Do the Hustle! was supposed to the A-side for Chokkan 2, but at the very last second Tsunku changed it. I remember everyone being really confused and mad about that, and even madder when they saw the video, lol. I remember Seishun Collection getting a similar amount of vitriol (deserved, I think, for all the reasons in your video). If I remember correctly, Shouganai Yume Oibito got to number one, so I think Tsunku was chasing that with another ballad. But good lord, those costumes... I agree with most of these, especially the top 5! It's funny because Go Girl! Koi no Victory! was the first MoMusu song I ever heard (I'm old, lol), but I can admit it's not one of their best. Though I definitely disagree about Happy Summer Wedding. For me, the number one worst is Pyoko Pyoko Ultra! It's just a lame song with no originality or momentum.

Don't kill me but Hyokkori Hyoutanjima is in my top 20 favorite singles. I fail to understand how Aisha Loan De or Genki+ weren't singles but Chokkan 2 did. And about A Gonna, it gives Bitch I'm Madonna vibes, and Bitch I'm Madonna SUCKS, so it just makes go WTF WAS H!P THINKING?

I made a Hello! Talk post on everyone's least favorite singles and I was so shocked at how many named "Are you Happy?" 😂 I love the song, but I can see why fans may dislike it. I find "Seishun Collection" so out of place in Platinum Era's discography too. I only like the instrumental of the song as well. "Go Girl ~Koi no Victory~" is a waste of a single for 15-nin Momusu. "Morning Musume no Hyokkori Hyoutanjima" is actually a cover song of a 60s children's show. It's a cute song to me, but it shouldn't have been a single. Good video! 🤍

Honestly, I have to agree with a lot of these. So many of these songs are out of place (most notably Chokkan 2, Dokyuu no Go Sign, and Hyokkori Hyoutanjima) or just plain flat like Are you Happy? or A gonna. While I do like Seishun Collection and Go Girl - Koi no Victory (for instance), I do think this is a reasonable list. And I must agree, Morning Musume '18 was seriously lacking in terms of good line distribution and banger songs... (And when you said that Are you Happy "went too far with the electronic music," I felt that! 😩)

I feel like seishun collection would have been better had it have been the debut single for the 9th gen. Its such a cute song that just feels out of place given its generation. Imagine getting the 9th gen early with this single lmaooooo + I know the outfits are tacky but I love them, just reminds me of how bizarre the outfits in this specific Jpop era were before they became sanitized and I love that 😂

Seishun Collection’s outfits were so atrocious, but the song grew on me so it’s iconic now. 😂 And I really dislike A Gonna. It was so unfortunate, and when I heard that Koishite Mitakute was going to be Ogata Haruna’s grad song as an A Side on that single instead of Are You Happy I was so confused. Terrible single all around but AYH grew on me. I’ve tricked my brain into liking most of the A Sides I didn’t initially like, but I still can’t get past: Tiki Bun Seishun Kozou ga Naiteiru Shabadaba Doo~

I have always been pissed too about Happy Summer Wedding. I actually like the song itself but the new members got 0 attention and so does Ichii Sayaka even if it's her last single you can barely spot her in the mv. I have read this on japanese sites. Ichii Sayaka was promised by their managers that she would be replacing Fukuda Asuka after her graduation. So she would become one of the centers of the group and be given a lot more lines to sing. But instead, Goto Maki became the new center and Yasuda Kei started singing live most of Fukuda Asuka's lines. So she felt pissed and decided to quit the group as she was never given a proper chance to shine within the group. She said the reason for her graduation was 'to focus on her studies' but she actually got back to showbusiness around a year later....

To be honest, some of Morning Musume singles have BAD or WORST solo line distributions, particularly A Gonna, Furari Ginza, Chu chu chu Bokura no Mirai, Jiyuu no Kuni Dakara, Sou Janai, and Kokoro & Karada. I really hate when they had only two, three, or four members (you know who they are) who have a decent solo line, while others had only a syllable solo line, a whisper, or an AHHHHH! In I WISH (2022) Chii-chan had the worst solo line, I just can't help but feel bad about it. Sorry, but in all groups in H!P, Morning Musume really have a bad or worst line distribution on their singles. Just my opinion only. I love H!P Groups.

Well personally I don't compare singles cuz music has evolved in 25 years. Concerning Go girl, they wear soccer outfits cuz it was a song for the team. I agree with you about graduation singles where you don't hear the graduating member. That's not respectful for her. A gonna / Are you happy is an example of many singles (Furari Ginza is an other.). They make this with 2 explanations : 1) the member has a solo song. 2) they didn't like the member. She wasn't popular enough. The example of a graduation single is Masaki's one. She was an ace and hot a solo song. That's what I hate with Up-front.

Jyuu na kuni dakara is easly one of their best songs from the lastest years. I can't say the same for Furari Ginza, that songs is just so boring and plane, and I didn't mentioned in the video, but I hate the choreography and the outfits too, it seems so silly to me

Well, chokkan 2 is not a sequel, it's a re-recorded version of a song from "Ai no dan 6kan". I've gave A Gonna a looooooot of oportunities but I can't stand it, I really don't understand why it's so annoying for me 😭

There is no song in your list that I would put on a MM singles playlist, so your choices are very good. But, for me, the worst of the worst is Egao no Kimi wa Taiyou sa. Imagine my horror when my no1 oshi chose that song as a grad song. It was disapponting for me, to say the least, but she likes it, so good for her.

I felt the same way about Egao no Kimi Wa Tayo sa. It seemed ridiculous to me and I couldn't believe that the chorus was weaker than the verses. But I started to appreciate it when Maachan sang it at his graduation. If she had sung another song, probably ENKWTS would be on the top.
