@@WafawafaKadazebyr-ci5ky Don't use a personal pronoun after the expression "because of" like when you said "because of I...", in stead use a noun or adjective+noun or quantifier (some, many...)+noun or possessive adjective ( my, your, his, her, its, our, their)+ (adjective) + noun. So you have to say: ".. I was thinking to buy my friend's house but I didn't because of (some) infamous rumours." In another side, you can rewrite the sentence in another way ,using the word "because", as the following: ".. I was thinking to buy my friend's house but I didn't because I heard some infamous rumours." Here you have two simple sentences that are joined with "because" to form one complex sentence. Therefore, after "because", you have to relate the verb of the second action to its suject which is "I".
