Main menu, level selector, hard mode level selector, settings menu, all show the 2nd nuke that hit miami. For menu it's pine trees being blown to the side, which isn't by the wind. Level selector shows a huge light coming from the left side of the screen which clearly isn't the sun. Hard mode level selector shows the city destroyed after the nuke, at night time. Settings shows debris flying through the air.

The picture of Bearded has burnt faces and flames all around him, the menu has dust and winds blew over. Unless you never played the game before, the design can`t be anymore on the nose than that.
