I was stationed in Germany in the U.S. Army in 1979 in a very small village in Northern Germany that even Germans in larger cities didn't know about. This was a very big song in the local disco pubs. This reminds of those days before the internet and social media. The song has stuck in my head for all these years. It is still a favorite of mine.

Look at the top 10 that week to see the tremendous talent of the time: Eagles, Donna Summer, Herb Alpert, Commodores, Michael Jackson, Styx, Fleetwood Mac, Kenny Rogers and duet with Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer. 1979 in my opinion was the best and deepest year in music. Using the 40s style harmonics for the chicks doing the stacatto backup singing was a real stroke of genius. In the early 90s, Coil did something similar in their "The Snow" song, only with a more 20s or 30s kind of sound. I can't think of any other instances where pop songs mined a pop sound from that far back. Pretty soon it will be 100 years since the first decade of pop recordings began, and even now it's impossible to predict what what will come next.

This was out at the time I started high school (Fall of 1979). So dopey it's appealing. This came out a few weeks before "Rappers Delight."

I can't get this song out of my head!!! It keeps popping in at random times throughout the day. I think I'm slowly going insane.

When Dan began singing, I started doing the rhythm, then I was like, "Wait, where do those words come from again?" Then he mentioned the song and it all came flooding back.

ManWith NoName Actually, it isn't. Was a big hit in 79. Anyone listening to the radio in 79/80 knows this song (for good or bad)

Love the album, I’m only 23 😂 but it’s a great mix of cartoonie, synth-pop, space sound & storytelling music. Performance however here looks nothing like the music video. What happened to the other girl?, are they a 3 person group? I can definitely also see young people my age loving this type of music. Especially my fav “Made In Munich” That, Pop Muzik are my top ones! 😎

I’m a woman of color and this song was very much before my time, but I have to say it is a fun song. I am sophisticated, educated, elegant, beautiful, wise, trendy, with a little side serving of sophisticated sass, yet I’m not above putting on this song and taking my socks off and dancing around my lavishly furnished home.
