The temple is on the hill, almost 1500 ft from the sea-level. The Goddess rests in a temple situated about 1465 steps above the ground on a hill that forms a part of the Satpura Range in Virar, a northern Mumbai suburb, about 60 km away from Mumbai. The hill offers a very picturesque view of Virar and its vicinity. During the nine days of the Navratri festival many followers visit the shrine.
How to Reach
By Air
The nearest International Airport is Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, roughly One & Half hour drive from Virar. It is well connected to a spectrum of cities in the country such as Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Delhi, Goa, Gwalior, Jaipur, Jamnagar, Hyderabad, Indore and Jodhpur through Air India, Air France, Air China, Air Arabia and Air India Express.
By Train
Virar has its own Railway Station named as Virar Railway Station which is connected to the major cities of Maharashtra. It is linked with the cities like New Delhi, Bangalore, Mysore, Jamnagar, Chennai, Kanyakumari, Puri, Nasik, Surat, Ahmedabad and Jaipur through Dehradun Express, Lok Shakti Express, Ahmedabad Passenger, Ranakpur Express and Saurashtra Express.
By Road
Virar is 60 Kms from Thane, 80 Kms from Mumbai, 132 Kms from Nashik, 190 Kms from Surat, 200 Kms from Pune, 430 Kms from Ahmedabad, 765 Kms from Hyderabad and is connected through Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) and some private travel services. Virar is well connected by road from Mumbai.
