No one is enough. One of the coach like wagons that accompanies this crane (see towards the end of the video) has sounds and can provide a whole host of different sounds as the crane operates.

Obviously none of you guys really know anything about operating cranes. None of you ever put the out riggers for the crane out before you swing the damned thing. Those cranes would roll right over in real life like that.

The real version of this crane can be set up and has limited slew operation (with counter-weight) without having the need to have outriggers deployed. It is true that the crane would normally not have the jib extended any great distance nor placed under load without having the outriggers extended. But then this an instructional video showing the functionality of the model, the crane is not actually lifting anything and it is not real life.

GlennMMarklin The whole purpose of almost all of these modelers and their sets/scenery etc IS to model real life. So dont all of a sudden come and comment with your 'this is not real life' nonsense. The original commenter was quite right in his observation. Quite frankly I think its rude and disingenuous for you to reply that way to the guy.

This guy is taking his time and effort to make a video for strangers to view just because he wants to. The videos purpose is to showcase the crane for people that may be interested in buying one or for fans of the hobby in general. Videos such as this one takes time to film, time to run the subject in the video, time to edit, add music and time to upload it. Why does he do all this?? No personal gain whatsoever other than making it available to the world to enjoy. Yet you guys get on here and beat up the guy because it’s not perfect? It’s not in the guidelines of safe operation of a real life several ton crane? It’s a plastic model with a small motor for operation powered by the same power to your coffee maker! It’s not real life, nothing on this entire layout is real life. It’s a HOBBY for crying out loud. Search for real life cranes if that’s what you prefer to be the expert at. Otherwise turn the page if you don’t like it. People amaze me sometimes ... coming on a model railroad video and verbally attack, cuss, criticize and name call others simply over nothing. Upload your own perfect video on how to operate a MODEL CRANE and be sure to include all the regulations, measurements of the hydraulics spacing, height, diameter of the whole cranes foot print, boom operations, chain sizes etc.. I’m talking regulations of all operations on this model train right on spec. Then and only then will find! That! No one CARES about real life crane operations on a model railroad layout!

Please read the reply, the original commenter was incorrect, as the crane CAN be used without the outrigger, and my comments addressed that. Please read the comments before adding needless and incorrect commentary.
