(The guy who hugged Dhoni 1-2 times in the film, and was also the other batsman when the team won the final....he was the same guy Dhoni had faced early on in the movie(basketball court scene In the Kooch Bihar trophy, and the guy who captained other team and scored 300+runs in the same match) His story is also very inspirational.....he was the man of the tournament in the world cup, and also, he was battling cancer while playing the world cup, which he didn't know at the time, and was undiagnosed (the cancer) ...he knew he was ill as he vomited blood on several occasions.....

Ranveer Singh plays Kapil Dev (the then captain) In 2011 India was a strong team, everyone excected the team to do well, but in 1983, India went as underdogs to the world cup. No-one expected the team to do well, be it the world or Indians. But Kapil Dev's men did the unthinkable and the world cup win of 1983 inspired several kids to play cricket.
