If you read the official report with accounts from the survivors, it was a total nightmare scene as the ship slowing turning over and people were falling, crawling on walls and jumping over doorway openings to avoid falling in, being crushed by eachother and furniture, trying to drag themselves upwards on railings of stairs. Then if they were lucky enough to make it out, they faced the storm and freezing temperatures - life rafts flipping over from the wind multiple times, survival suits that fell to bits when they tried to wear them. If you survived you were strong, lucky, and probably scarred for life with PTSD.
@mybiz21674 жыл бұрын
True, but you don't have to read a report to know that. Watch the documentaries where the survivors explain themselves. The report likely has some bullshit in it as they're omitting facts according to the survivors.

Everyone asks me what my biggest fear is and i always bring this exact story up. Particularly due to something i heard a guy mention on a documentary on this tragedy! The guy said "your survival rate depended on how fast you were and your location inside the ship". Which to me means that some people in the ship were automatically going to die due to their location no matter what. My fear is what those individuals had to witness leading up to their death. The thought of being trapped in the ship awake and alert while it slowly goes down absolutely terrifies me. Id like to think in my mind, that i would at least try my best to get out but of course you would never really know unless you actually were in it. Like the sounds of those stuck screaming, the ship groaning and making noise, to then lose all power and be in the pitch black just waiting for whatever is about to happen. I cant even imagine the terror they felt. Its like, you would almost rather be killed by falling objects just so you wouldn't have to go down alert with the ship if you had no way out. This is why this scenario is my biggest fear! To look at actual interior shots of the ship in this makes the story even that much more intense and sad! Rest easy to all those lost! 🙏

My biggest fear is this too. Girls simply would have no chance due to nature. They don't have the strength and people will walk over them. This is exactly what happened on the Estonia. Many women and girls simply never got to the deck because everyone walked over them. When it's everyone for themselves, as a woman you stand no chance. There were many report of looters taking jewelry off passengers, even people taking life vests off others because they didn't have any. Many of these were women, and this is the main reason 97% of women died unfortunately. Most never got out of the ship, some never got a lifevest or theirs was stolen. The few who did get to the deck didn't have a raft or lifeboat as they were taken by the much faster people. The few women who managed to hold it out and end up in the water, often died of hypothermia or were taken by the waves. There were reports of people trying to use others as a way of staying afloat in the cold water as well.... I can't imagine the fear, knowing that you stand no chance simply because you're not strong or fast enough. I myself would probably give up and try to let my last moments be as peacefull as possible, instead of dying in constant fear and panic trying to avoid getting trampled or pushed aside.
@praeparatus_supervivet Жыл бұрын
Due to the heavy list and construction of the ships interior children, women and elderly had the hardest time reaching for the stairs and dragging themselves up floor by floor...some family members had to tragically say goodbye to their sons who at least stood a chance of being able to save themselves by getting out from the ship.
@spyrde12 ай бұрын
The interesting thing is that a lot of survivors were from the deepest and farthest locations from the top in the bottom and front, because they were kept awake due to the heavy storm waves affecting them the most and they were also the closest to hearing the massive thuds when bow broke loose. If you were closer to the top, you might've only realized that something was wrong when the ship was already tilting close to 45 degrees, making it impossible to climb out.

That is actually true, the older ferrys that still are sailing, are not very different from what Estonia was. (Viking Line, Silja Line and Eckerö Line at least have these kind of ferrys in the baltic) The interior is not as much 80s and 90s but sometimes not too far. Newer and bigger ones have more and fancier stuff than the older simple ones. I think they also sail kind of close from where Estonia is resting. And they also sail in bad weather too, worse than what Estonia was in, that wasn't "a real storm" by sailors, though it was rough weather. But they should not be able to sink like this, at least anymore. Rip

It's heartbreaking to see the happy, smiling crew in the video, knowing that in all probability they endured absolute terror in their final moments of life, trapped and disorientated in the darkness of the sinking, flooding hull which moments before had been their warm, comfortable sanctuary from the freezing sea! No chance to make it to deckside, to launch a lifeboat, or to abandon ship. The victims, their families and their countrymen have all been betrayed by the deception and obstruction of the governments responsible for this vessel's safety! The supposedly official report is an absolute travesty, a willfully deceptive fabrication designed to obstruct any attempts to reach the true cause of the loss of this vessel and the 852 victims.

Carl Eric Reintamm did arrive the promenade deck 1 till 2 minutes after the loud 2 or 3 bangs that happened between ca. kl. 01.02 or 01.05. According to JAIC the bow visor fell of the ship around kl. 01.16. So the 2-3 big bangs, water on deck 1, and the following starboard listing did happen ca. 10-15 minutes before the separation of the bow visor! That is pretty strange, because that means that the sekvens of happenings did indeed start approximum 12-15 minutes before the car ramp could have let all the water inn on the car deck. That brings the questions on why the water came in on deck 1, and why the ship listed before the ramp fell down and the visor separated from the ship !? Reintamm did see something in the water that left the ship backwards to the left app. 10 minutes before the separation of the bow visor. Assuming that Reintamm looked backwards to the left from starboard promenade deck point of view, the thing in the water most likely could have hit the starboard side of the ship before the separation of the visor, and the opening of the ramp. If Reintamm speaks truth it clearly proves without any shadow of a doubt that the specific time of the the 2-3 loud bangs, the inlet of the water on deck 1, followed by the with 30 degrees starboard listing a few minutes later, that this sekvens of events clearly happened before the separation of the visor and the downfall of the ramp........

You can hear a bunch of car alarms going off behind the door. This was likely and horrifically the cars being knocked against each other as they began to float. Second footage was worse. You witness perhaps the first casualty of the incident. A member of staff is knocked off his feet in the bar area and slides around the floor as the ship lists. According to the narrator (Who was apparently a survivor.) The man wasn't just unconscious. He was dead. The fall had somehow killed him instantly. This also shows the chaos of the situation with some not understanding just how serious this is becoming and still joking/cavorting as the body slides around with assorted objects being flung around.

Dear swedish goverbnment. I respect you generally but: What do you want to hide if you want to build a sarcophagus around the ship and later try to forbid other countries to dive there? A country acts like that only when it has much to lose, when the truth comes to light. I tell you: one day it will come to light. And that will restore Sweden's honor.

U prob dont live in sweden so i can explain that its chaos here.
@NerdX1514 жыл бұрын
Only citizens of the nordic countries are banned from diving there, and it is not that strange. The wreck is tomb, and you gotta show the dead some respect. But as I said, divers from other countries CAN dive there if they want, and there are plenty of videos out there of people doing so.

abderaman alzemouri The victims have dissolved in the mineral rich water by now. There is a video on youtube where divers study the wreck like two years after the accident and at one point you can see the diver pull out a human upper torso by the head and it disintegrates as he does it. The face looked like the dead marches spirits from LOTR as it disintegrated.
@TheAbderaman6 жыл бұрын
it looks strange because another ship sunk in shallow waters on lake superior and the bones are still intact nearly a century after the accident

@Suomi Perkele! for my point of view it is disrespectful to let them like garbage inside the wreck with all the furnitures inside it is sad and the families are saying the same
