What the story actually is and it may connect to PvZ 3, technically Dave had a niece called Patrice Blazing, who actually got killed after zomboss setting of a bomb which she was killed in. The hospital bed reassembles her lying down. Notice how Dave doesn't have a pot on his head or his beard? This happened in the past, and technically it after the death of Patrice made Dave into "Crazy Dave", by which he now wears a pot on his head just to protect himself. This is nothing but my theory of what happened, a game theory.
