M S Subbulakshmi - Naada Tanumanisham - Chittaranjani - Tyagaraja Swami

Smt M.S.Subbulakshmi renders this famous kriti of Tyagaraja Swami (composed in Chittaranjani raga) with zest. She precedes the song with a shloka on Goddess Saraswati from the "Navaratnamala" of Kalidasa. This recording is sourced from a live concert performed in 1972. We apologise for the poor audio quality - the sound has been "cleaned" to the best possible extent. The accompanists are:

I believe one can attain mukti if he / she in his/ her lifetime has listened to atleast a handful of kritis and devotional songs sung by MS Amma. At any point in time that one listens to her music, his / her soul gets elevated. Such is the divine magic of MS Amma. I bow to her always and I am very happy / honored / privileged that I too lived during her times. Her sense of Bhakti is unparalleled. She is a God-given gift to all the Hindus. Iam reminded that this recording should have been in early 60s or late 50s when H.H. Mahaperiyava had covered this sloka in his discourse touching on How Kalidasa was immersed in the lyrical beauty and made it sound like music.This should have prompted M.S. to preface this krithi touching on musical basics on the five faces of Lord Siva being the origin for the five notes except Sa and Pa.MS and TS were recording his discourses then.Hence my surmise

Ohh!Jesus,It felt like a holy vedic chant,performed during one of the several sevas to that Lord Venkateshwara who sits Atop Tirumala.Feels like the happiness in seeing that swami's pallaki sway in the chaatur maada veedhi of tirumala during brahmotsavams.Only our divine mother and her divine song can give out such a richness to this outpouring of Bkakti by Tyagaraja.Sorry Paramparaa,your song collections put me into spiritual vertigo,hence a lot of comments :))
