Mötley Crüe - Girls Girls Girls (Obligatory '80's Metal Guitar Cover Pt.8)

Classic track from the 'retired' glam metal band that I've been meaning to do for so long but could never decide between speeding up the track to take it from D standard up to E standard tuning, or to set up one of my guitars in that tuning (tuning down with a floating trem requires readjusting the springs etc.). I got some new strings for my Hohner and I thought I'd see if I could set it up in the lower tuning and it seems stable enough, although very very light with my usual gauge 9 strings in that tuning. Speeding up the track sounded horrible, even for me...
I'll be doing 2 or 3 more Motley tracks as I think there's some great riffs from Mick and Nikki that deserve some attention, although they are not a band I listen to much, if at all. :)

*It's a Hohner G3T which I think is pretty much a European Steinberger Spirit. (I put a decal design on it of my favourite movie, The Thing) A lot of people hate these guitars...feel free to tell me if you are one of them
*I use a Boss Me50 into a Palmer Pdi09 going direct into my computer, recording onto Pro Tools.
*I purposely have my headphone cable like that so it doesn't get in the way.

As for the 2 different Riggs on the hysteria cover that Jackson is a sustained monster. Charvel is no slouch at all, to my ear the only thing, the harmonics on that Jackson they're incredible.. Crazy guitar. It is a surprisingly difficult riff to play cleanly. Not a problem for you! Love your playing, the Steve Vai parts blew me away in the Just like paradise take. Those rhythm parts look like so much fun to play. Do you use a modelling amp or something? Forgive my ignorance, I'm a drummer with a piano/keys background. Regards from Sydney, OZ.

Enjoy your content. Is it possible for you to turn up the volume of your guitar to differentiate your playing prowess from the actual song? It is hard to tell that you are not just strumming along with what we hear from the actual song. Not a diss, just a thought.

It’s something I’m always conscious of, making sure my guitar isn’t too loud or quiet but it can be hard to tell what the KZbin compression will do on certain songs. I have been accused of miming before but if you listen to the actual track and then my cover, the differences should be obvious. Well, they are to me haha. Cheers

Geek Homeworld I do that on the odd song if there’s scope to, and I have a ‘Leppardized’ series where I add my own guitar to pop tracks, but the main reason for these videos are for referencing to see how they can be played so I want them to be as accurate as possible.
