I'm a cheap fuck, as much as I want many of the high profile games I will just emulate them overall. Unless of course it's one of those games that happens to be one of my own personal favorite types of games kinda like Snatcher for example which is pricey. That I was willing to pay more for because the game meant so much to me. So honestly I think the price can be justified depending on how much it means to the person who wants it. Outside of the collector who just wants it only because it is rare rather than for the experience itself.

How did i NOT see this episode with all of the years i have watched you. This is one of my FAVORITE Genesis games ever. I acquired this by "accident" in a flea market in maybe 1992/1991when my Dad bought it for me. I played it for HOURS and hours and had no idea at the time how prevalent it would be. I didn't care if anyone liked it, I just knew it was good. The music is beyond inspiring for me. It is just so fantastic i can't even explain. I wish i still had the box but i still have the cart. I believe the rarest / most expensive game I own is Panzer Dragoon Saga for the Saturn which I think sells for several hundred pounds / Dollars online. To me It is definitely worth that price and I would never sell it!! I think I picked it up back in the day for £30. I can't imagine a Shoot em up being that worth it though, but I am not a big fan of the genre so I don't know what I am talking about XD Love the idea of this episode though! Maybe we will get a series of 'Is it worth it'? :)

Looks fantastic, but it's hard to justify the price when you can get several excellent shooters on Genesis (several of which being better) for the same price. It's often only people that own it and didn't pay current price for it that say "it's absolutely worth it"(same with other extremely expensive games). I love shooters, but I wish their was even a shred of objectivity here.

The thing about MUSHA is, it's really hard to find an experience like this on any other 16-bit platform. Space Megaforce is cool but it's not even in the same league in my personal opinion (Aesthetic wise. Ironically they both are apart of the Aleste series). Between the cool art style and great soundtrack, MUSHA is really one of a kind. It's also nice to see a Sega Genesis game get appreciated monetarily. If this game was on the SNES it would be worth close to a grand. Aero FIghters CIB is worth $900 and that game isn't close to as good as MUSHA. HCG Best show on KZbin!

I honestly don't get the hype behind Musha... Sure, it's a pretty good shmup, but it's really no Gate of Thunder or Soldier Blade...
@Pai30009 жыл бұрын
+Ruko Michiharu Could not agree more. There are far far better games and far far better shoot em ups, and much cheaper. Sticking to the gameplay, art design and whatnot, you gotta be crazy to pay 300 bucks for this game. Speculation sucks.
@Michirin98019 жыл бұрын
Pai3000 Or you could just get them on the Virtual Console or emulate them, or put them on a flash cartridge if you want to play in real hardware... I mean, good'ol Compile doesn't even exist anymore, they aren't making any money off of this game, so if you buy a real copy your money is all going to the hands of scalpers...
@zborgerd9 жыл бұрын
+Ruko Michiharu MUSHA is a good game, but I'd agree that gate of Thunder and Soldier Blade are better games. Lords of Thunder as well. Thunder Force IV, and probably even Gunhed. However, MUSHA has one thing going for it. It's relatively uncommon (not rare) game on a console that's become more of a collector's console in the past two years. Genesis / Mega Drive is the hot thing right now, like the TurboGrafx. Before that it was the NES and SNES. I tied to pick up several games before it took off and barely got away with some good deals, but many games have more than doubled since 2012 / 2013. As a fan of Compile games, I have most of their domestic titles (and some import). MUSHA, like any game, is only worth what people will pay for it, and right now it seems to be one of the higher selling Genesis games along with an average Zelda clone (Crusader of Centy). What does that say about this hobby? I've yet to find anyone claim that either are the best games on the console.
@Michirin98019 жыл бұрын
Zach B Do you have Robo Aleste on the Sega CD? I hear that one is pretty good, it's from the same series as Musha and Space Megaforce, but overall, I'm really not a big fan of Compile's Aleste series, but I can appreciate it anyway... That said though I really love Rude Breaker (also by compile) and it's VERY similar to the Aleste games, except It's not as brutally difficult as their other shmups... This one is only playable via emulation though
@racerxgundam9 жыл бұрын
+Ruko Michiharu WOW...lol been seeing all ur comments on the channels and like the agreement streak ends here!..by no means do i think M.U.S.H.A is the best shooter out there..but to be honest, and i own all three games....it OUTCLASSES both gate of thunder and soldier blade (any of the three hudson games honestly) easily. I spilled my coffee when i read this!!!!!! :-P P.S. i played robo aleste thru emulation and its pretty badass. i dunno where it fits in the series..but there is another "ghost soldier (or maybe knight?) spriggan" that i also finished thru emulation for the pcengine CD and thats prolly the best shooter in my book. Mind u its not as hard as other shooters, so its perfect for wussies like me.

No game is worth that kind of money if there is a good emulation to be had for very little money. Wii VC has MUSHA and that is good enough for me. The reason retro gaming has become a matter of social class is simply because people keep paying more than they should.

+charvelgtrs +viewtifuljoe99 I agree too. I used to collect any game I enjoyed, for any system... until I realized that if I sold off my cartridges and replaced them with Everdrives I'd have thousands of dollars left over. It's hard for me to say any retro game or any game in general warrants these crazy prices ....I like to think of myself as a hardcore collector but it all has to be reasonable....I'm also not against emulation whatsoever so until I manage to find the mega expensive games in the wild I have NO problem just emulating it to enjoy it....I just can't justify spending 300, 400, 500$ on any game ever (minus arcade cabinets or certain hardware of course).....I would rather be patient and know one day I'll find it while out hunting for a steal and feel much more proud and accomplished that way instead of just throwing out ridiculous amounts of money to get a game. Just my opinion I'm sure many will disagree and give me shit for my views on emulation and even piracy..

Most expensive game I own is a complete Mega Man for the game gear. I should be really excited about it but I'm just not a Mega Man fan. I'm not a huge big fan of Mega Drive/Genesis games, I was more into SNES I love Shmups and I'm not a big fan or a specialist in the genre So to me, I'd say it's worth

In 90's we had so many shooters that I remember M.U.S.H.A. as just another ordinary game of the genre. It didn't catch my attention.

why this game isn't on the sonic ultimate genesis collection is beyond me.

Because Sonic didn't have enough rings to afford this game.

Great game, must have. You also need to have the little figurine of the mech you play as in the game :).

I mean it's a great game, but I would not pay $500 to $700 for MUSHA. It kills me to say that I'd much rather emulate it due to the astronomical price.

It is no less worthy of purchase than so many other games that demand ridiculous prices. If you love this genre, and you can find it for a decent price, it is absolutely worth it.

and this is the reason why many games stay out of reasonable price ranges.

Nice shirt, Aliens! Question, how many t-shirts do you have? It seems you're always wearing a different one, and sometimes ones which match the theme of the video. My estimate is about five-hundred. Nothing wrong with that by the way, just curious. :D

There's only a handful of games I paid over $100 for: Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy III, and Shining Force III, and those were all complete and in great condition. I have a hard time paying more than $60 for any game, no matter how great, especially because of the existence of emulators.

Well, I got my copy for $2 with the case but, no manual I think, I will never sell my copy now

@Jake Allison depends on the game for me. Something like earthbound or super Metroid might be worth the price for all of the gameplay you get in them.
