this is probably my favorite video on all of youtube. it makes me so damn happy to see someone sitting down with just a guitar and making incredible music. not to discount the rest of his work, which I love, but you just don't see much of this anymore. just beautiful.

oh my God that must have been the greatest thing I have ever seen. M. Ward for President !!
@pcahern17 жыл бұрын
Most importantly, he's writing his own music. CHEERS for that!!!! I've met a million great guitarists, but very few who could write a unique song.......M's greatest talent aren't within his fingers, but within his head
@doyler36916 жыл бұрын
christ all you people who are commenting mostly in a negative vibe about m ward's guitar playing are missing the point,here's a guy who's guitar playing by singer-songwriter standards is excellent,who's voice is amazing and lyrics and songs probably the best that's out there at the moment.He's No.1,m ward don't need the presidency,he's already the King

yeah yeah!! I watch this almost once a month for the past few years. Have seen Matt all over, Crotia, England, USA, festivals. I am never disappointed. Anyone who wants to dispute his style, Listen to LEO Kottke or John Fahey. I might of spelled the names wrong but they are similar in fingerpicking. I heard Matt learned guitar by playing every beatle song, know a couple others who have done that and all come out amazing. YOU'RE THE BEST MATT, not to mention you hang out with Zoey....

this guy is awesome. he probably spent a lot of time alone with his guitar. what tuning does he use?
@IViewMusic17 жыл бұрын
Well, the E-string is tuned into D, so that can't be it. I think he may have only did that to let it drone and the rest of the strings are most likely tuned as normal. Especially judging from the last strum: loose top string and a Spanish D finger-setting.
@connorlangley4416 жыл бұрын

this phenomenon has been studied in some detail. It seems as if some people's morals have run amuck due to the impersonal and detached manner in which we can post things anywhere. Taking it to an extreme, it's a bit like what happens during war, when a soldier goes to a foreign country and feels like he can rape, kill, and commit any kind of crime with total impunity. Just raw, unadulterated primal urges from unresolved adolescence I suppose.
