Mitzvah Tenz are the most serious part of the wedding, after the ceremony, that is and takes place AFTER the meal and dancing, so yes, a bride will be serious. She usually stands during mitzvah tanz or moves around with the gartel (knitted belt) just to keep pace. The point is for the men to have an opportunity to dance in front of the Shechina (G-d's presence) which rests on the face of a bride on the day of her wedding. In mind and spirit the men are now dancing before G-d, not before a bride.

It is a special custom at some Ultra Orthodox communities from Europe. Not customary to Sephardi Jews and secular Jews. The ecstatic atmosphere is overwhelming and would recommend everyone to attend such an event at least once in their lives...

+impychimpyable its a jewish ultraorthodox wedding. the bride is fully covered....and since men and women can't touch eachother, that's the reason they're dancing like this. and if you were wondering why you only see men, it's because men and women have to stay seperately. i hope you got some answers for your questions
