8 gb is also fine with the M1 chip and editing as you can see in the benchmark testing. But your problems might start with rendering Cinema4d or Blender.

Thanks for checking out the video! I totally agree.. The tick up to 16 GB on the M1 is more about the longevity of the machine.. The $200 spent at purchasing can potentially save someone the cost of another full price iMac in two years if and when they run into a wall with the 8gb.

🏆🎖 Subbed + thanks! Got excited Silver, 16/512GB to be delivered Mon 7/19/21 but UPS (ugh!) pushed date to Wed + and times keep changing. Hasn’t even left CHINA! I REALLY want my iMac but don’t wanna sit home a week waiting for UPS to get it together. They claim doesn’t have to be signed for but I never got more than airpods or watch bands that did NOT require signature 👩🏾‍🦳
