I bought a iPad Air 5th gen a few weeks ago and I love it! Got it on sale and it was a great deal compared to the older iPad Airs from previous generations.

I got a 11 inch iPad Pro 3 2021 with M1 chip for just £400 because it has a tiny scratch on the screen. iPad Air 5’s also selling for same price and was told to go for Pro as apparently promotion is rlly good.

64 gb minimum, ideally go for 128gb. Don’t touch 32 gb

You left out a bunch of other improvements, like smaller device yet larger screen due to reduced bevels, doubling of ram to 8gb which is usually the deciding factor when a device becomes older if it’s still useable as well as not closing apps when you switch them ect, much better cameras and center stage, usb c, better Wi-Fi and cellular, apple pencil 2 support, and to me the biggest difference and dealbreaker with the air 3, the landscape stereo speakers instead of just side speakers. Also the M1 chip is a big deal, it’s not a slight upgrade, it’s leaps and bounds ahead of the air 3 and will be a viable device which won’t slow down for many years longer than the air 3.

The M1 chip and 8 gigabytes of ram makes a massive difference in performance. I owned the iPad Air four and five. Five is way smoother. Way faster. I feel like you’re under selling the upgrade cycle pretty severely.

That's a fair point even though I personally didn't notice too much difference when making the video. In the year since then I'd say the 5th gen Air performance has moved from overkill to usable.

​@@amnotmadbutifyoupersistjust go with an ipad 5, if youre just gonna use your laptop for writing notes and presentations, just buy a magic keyboard and it kinda works like a laptop too. Its easier to bring around specially in classes as it doesnt fully eat space in your bag

For a person who is buying an iPad for the first time won't feel it's not worth it the reason why you feel like that is all the iPads are bulit really good and you can't even feel the difference between new ones and old ones I would always suggest people to get a new one on first time getting one

They both have the M1 chip . Only diff I can see happening is the pro got promotion better looking screen prob not really noticeable . But still a few hundred more in my case so I figured the air 5 is for me . I’m use it to game with Genshin runs pretty well. Read and watch shows. So my use case isn’t in that pro category I’m guessing .

If you only need 64gb storage get the air 5, otherwise M1 Pro 3 makes more sense

@@boom5732 There’s also a gen 4, 5 and 6 of the pro 11 inch. You can tell it’s the newer version of the gen 3 from 2021 if it either has an M1 chip or 128gb base storage, as previous generations started at 64gb and used an A series chip

I think he meant as far as noticeable clarity, sharpness, color reproduction, contrast ect. It’s also not 120hz so there’s that too. 500 nits is plenty bright though, that’s equal to or better than almost all android tablets and can be seen outside on a bright day fine. On a side note I don’t want an oled, I consider ips better because oled almost always uses pwm (screen flickering) to reduce brightness and I don’t need any extra eye strain or headaches, as well as oled looking artificial and overly saturated so I prefer a really good ips personally. The exception is the super expensive oleds that don’t have these issues as much, but then the only thing you’re really gaining is deeper blacks, so to spend thousands just to have deeper blacks isn’t worth it to me.
