Greg - thanks for making this video. I've been "laptop only" for a very long time. Getting this small screen 13.3" M1, I'm planning on getting both a large size 4K TV (55"? 70"?) for both gaming and for sending video like Netflix or something while I'm typing away, working on stuff, AND a nice 32" monitor. But I'm really at a loss as to what one to get. Seems like 1440p is a great resolution for MacOS. Most people use their 5K iMacs at the standard "1440p" factory setting anyway. Anyhoo, I'm can't wait for mine to arrive and set up a nice functional, cozy workspace...

What about some extra storage? Like external SSD? There are some usb c hubs for Mac Mini that also has an enclosure for SSD. Have you had any chance to try them out?

One item I don't see much of in these M1 Mac mini reviews is a CD drive . I will need one with my Mini (when it finally arrives) to rip music into iTunes and to load legacy software . Would you recommend the drive from Apple or some other vendor?

Hi from France, thank you for your video! I experience a kind of latency, a lack of fluidity when I use my Mac Mini M1 with the LG Ultrafine 5K screen. Did you notice the same thing? It's very difficult to describe, but it's clearly less fluid than my 2013 non-retina iMac. Thanks! ✌️

Great review! My m1 mini is not working with the LG 27" 5K just like yours. Both devices have thunderbolts. But, Apple claims it must be direct HDMI-to-HDMI in order to get the monitor to power up (weird) - How did you get the display to work with the m1 mini?

Even thou it doesn't throttle much with most applications, I would add just one more thing if you notice some throttling when using something really heavy like Blender. A fan base that goes in the bottom with a silent Noctua fan, with cover off on the Mini. I did it with my 2018 Mini and improved performance. I added a filter + rubber ring so it doesn't scratch the bottom.

Some complains third-party BT keyboards cant be able to connect to MacMini when it starts up. So you'll need a Apple magickeyboard to put LogIn password. Is that true?

My friend, I'm looking for the best keyboard and mouse option for the mac mini m1..the use I make mainly of logic pro X and a bit of video editing..Which keyboard and mouse do you think is the best choice for me? I have the same monitor with my Mac mini. I find that when my mac wakes up from sleep it changes to 4K resolution. Apple support does not know why this is happening. Has this ever happened to you?

I’d say from a design standpoint you need another one of those quasar lights just because otherwise it feels lop sided. Gotta do something with that empty space near the wall :)

The MX series will work with the Apple Bluetooth Low Power, from the Logitech page "Required: Bluetooth low energy technology ". If you use an old fashioned mouse without the low power you may have dropout problems. This is how I fixed my Intel Mac mini with the same disconnect problems.

Dell U2720Q is one of the best monitors to use with Mac computers. Best investment ever. I love watching content on this beautiful screen. I highly recommend it if you have $500-$600 to spare. You can watch for it to go on sale on Dell or Amazon's websites.

I needed a new PC got the mac mini with all the up grades. Too bad because after 2 months lots of call to apple care my $1400 mac mini is a door stop I have lost hundreds of photos and when I went to bed last night my song count was 5200 woke up and it down to 5145. I have programs that work one day but not the next and then back again. Everything on this seems to be intermittent. Every apple care call was very frustrating so I politely got off the phone. Nothing is fixed and daily loss of data is an indication it's time for a new computer. My husband who has always been on microsoft is bring me a working PC on his way home today. I can pray I can recover the photos still on the mac mini before it heads to the electronic dump outside of town
