The M105 Deployable Universal Combat Earthmover (DEUCE) is a high-speed, high mobility, earth-moving system. This highly anticipated earthmover, which will soon be in the Army construction equipment inventory, will provide light infantry and airborne combat engineers with an unprecedented self-deploy capability. It is capable of conducting the following activities: clearing, leveling, and excavation operations in support of mobility, countermobility, survivability, and sustained light engineering missions. The DEUCE can be parachute dropped and, thanks to the rubber tracks, travel on its own at speeds up to 30 mph.

I contracted to a British Army Royal Engineers Regiment who ran these. Their requirement is different to us civilian contractors, they are not working 60+ hour weeks with their machinery nor looking for huge capacity/productivity either. The DEUCE is for 'light-duty' operations, runway repairs, road, track & aircraft runway & apron construction & supposed crater repair/infill. It is roadable, which makes it ideal (get in & get out-unassisted). Compared to my Cat 247, it was The Daddy MTL..!

This is a nice dozer. Would love to see it in the forestry service for wildfires.

Ok I get it, it's for the Airborne. I thought this is a joke untill I read the info. Actually it should work out really well in support of light infantry and yes it's earth moving capabilities is less than a D-5 but the D-5 is sooo slow and I don't think it is air droppable.

light duty for sure. not equal to a d5. more like a d3 or jd450. we sheared the bolts on the drive sprockets all the time for light equip operations. we had to be extra careful with these. they are more on the high mobility tracked vehicle side than dozer

@cobra96svt570 Officers rarely but if you enlist. Even higher ranked enlisted train to be supervisors. From what I'm hearing so far is the Navy gives you more training

It may have the same horsepower as a D-5, but I guarantee the D-5 would move twice the amount of earth in the same time as this little Bobcat wannabe.
