Over coming fears of riding on the highway. It’s safer than riding in the city limits. Out on the Suzuki M109r cruising the Highways of Lake City Florida.

Great advice. I went exit to exit for a while, and I got really used to the highway once I got acclimated to the ride.

Rich. How do you like the windshield? What size do you have? Any buffeting? Thanks.
@richthereturnrider6737Ай бұрын
@@joe2479 I don’t even think about it after having it for couple of years. It’s the V stream. No buffeting. The design flexes the wind over the helmet. I am 5-10. It works great for me.

Rich, your strategy on taking the interstates is correct. This is because relative speeds are very close and everyone is going in the same direction. The secret is to allow plenty of following room, allow plenty of space and look far ahead to allow time to avoid delaminated tire treads from trucks. Position yourself so that you do not get boxed in. It is much safer than running 2 lane secondary roads. We truck driver's use the same strategies.

Rich, as always, you make great videos discussing practical, real experience comments. If I still lived in the DC/MD area I’d never want to ride. Speed limits there are only a suggestion not something people follow not to mention the drivers that ride your bumper. That M109R has a deep, throaty growl! One advantage we have riding modern bikes is fuel injection. My fuel injected bikes are much more responsive in critical situations than the carbureted ones I’ve owned.
@richthereturnrider6737 Жыл бұрын
Yeah Tim. I agree. MD/DC, NY area does not really allow spacial awareness to be practiced. Speed probably not a big concern, to much traffic. Again your right. Fuel injection vs carbs is so much more responsive. It’s awesome. Throttle Therapy. Thanks Ride safe. Thanks for the comment and watching.

Rich, great suggestions. I feel that Highway riding is safer, however I enjoy the back roads and the scenery that it provides. Either route, our heads need to always be on a swivel while practicing good riding habits. Keep Posting,,, Wind Therapy.

Amen to that 100%. The world relaxation is misstated motorcycling but therapeutic is probably more appropriate. Thanks for watching. Ride safe.

First let me say that I really like your bike!! Not going to lie... I was nervous about the highway when I first started riding. Then I quickly realized it was much safer than the backstreets. I also hate riding behind pick ups. They are always losing something out of the bed. Semi trucks aren't fun either... All that turbulent air!! LOTS of great tips for beginners in here man!! Great video! Subbed!! 👍

Thanks brother. I came from sports bike and always was a fan of the CBR line. Got to admit was afraid of the Liter bike but they are badass. Might be considering a 600 for a track bike. Thanks for watching and subscribing. I’ll be following you. Love your content. I also subscribe. Ride safe brother.

I am 70 years old, started riding when I was 17, but not currently riding a motorcycle. You were talking about trucks and keeping a respectable distance. I have always had a fear of being passed by log trucks and dump trucks. There is almost always something falling off the rear of one of those. Of course, a new threat is the driver who can't keep his face out of his/her cell phone. Sometimes I wish those things had never been invented. I already know my next ride will be an M109R. We are still @ a 55 mph speed limit on the beltway here in the DMV, but nobody observers it.

I know. Just be vigilant and stay safe. As a rider there it’s sometimes necessary to be a little aggressive in riding to stay safe.

I have the same bike and just now installed the same exact windshield. Did you have to adjust it up or down any? I’d rather not have to undo what I just did. I installed it per the instructions but now I’m hearing that taller riders need to put it at the highest point on the forks. I guess I will if I have to.
@richthereturnrider67376 ай бұрын
My bolts was a pain in the but to catch when I tried to raise it at its highest point but I dd raise it to its highest point. I am 5-10. I can still see over it. The windshield deflects the wind upward so raising it probably wasn’t even necessary. Thanks for watching.

Hello again from Alaska…we BZ…short window to get things…sad to say but I’ve only ridden 4 times so far. Winter turned to FALL instead of SPRING. Such it is in the North..I’m hoping Fall turns to Summer🙃…soon…I at times miss the clutch and preload tbh…guess the transition is like riding a bike 😜 👊🇺🇸👊
