@@dannysmith2806 That's actually true, iraqi couldnt afford HEATFS or APFSDS and even if they could, it wouldnt have changed anything, they were using T55 and about twenty T72, but the variant of these tanks were shitty af, no electronics at all, they had to move the turret and the canon with a crank, no thermal or night vision. They were no more dangerous than training targets or WW2 tanks. Iraqi lost everything in this battle, they only managed to destroy a Bradley with a BMP-1, that's all.

Recently finished a degree with an emphasis on Middle Eastern warfare: your comment on the use of the Abrams in Iraq 1 rings true af. Yeah, it was a shooting gallery where the targets stood still. The enemy tanks would be nice & warm from sitting out in the sun all day and with our thermal sights we could plink them from multiple (ie 3+) kilometers away. Add in that they had no effective night vision or even defensive measures in addition to the infamous post-pen damage from DU & our FCS, we were brutally effective. p.s. Don't even get me started on APUs and the latest IRL M1A2 ammo along with the original M1 having the M900 that the M1128 has in-game.

If you're talking about 73 Easting, it was not as you described Phly. Yes, there were *some* engagements that occurred at kilometers away, but the engagements largely began at close range. Note before some of you jump down my throat, I'm not talking about point blank range. The lead elements of the US armored division essentially ran into the Iraqi armor. The engagement itself lasted almost an entire day, 73 Easting itself was just the beginning of it.
