He has one of the beautiful, gritty, and raw voices I’ve ever heard. His live versions and studio versions are all pure perfection. You can feel his heart and soul poured into each lyric. He’s a true artist and is transforming people lives by being so vulnerable and raw with us. We love you Dermot. ❤️

I remember watching an interview with him where he explains how he was working with a vocal trainer and learning to sing from his gut instead of his throat, and you can tell a major difference from this to what he sounded like 5 years ago live. Fantastic.

I think he sounded better before to be honest. Still great, but I love the raspyness of his early stuff

Wonderful performances. I love the production on the studio versions of his songs, but does anyone else want him to write some more songs that are more stripped down like these performances?

I really love how serious and focused he stays. Nothing wrong with being silly but he keeps it so focused and so serious because it really is with those kind of lyrics and such heart. He aint just playing around thats for sure. He will always keep my attention.
@smusherface3 жыл бұрын
Given his lyrics and how much emotion he puts into his music, I figured he might be kind of intense to around, maybe a bit brooding. But I saw a 4 part interview series on KZbin called “Reflections” (about the making of his album, his writing process, etc.) and he said he’s actually pretty carefree and silly outside music because he pours everything into the music. Not that he’s frivolous or anything, he’s just doesn’t take himself too seriously and likes to have fun, laugh and remain upbeat, looking for the light that comes from the dark. I highly recommend watching that series, it gives you a lot of insight into his music and him as a person. I feel bad for those who haven’t yet discovered his music. Listening to him sing those poetic, powerfully emotive lyrics with his entire being is a soul stirring, heart bursting, spine tingling, mind blowing spiritual experience.
