At the pre season Bilsterberg test, where Walkenhorst debuted their brand new for 2020 M2 Racing CS, I thought I'd compare it to the BMW M4 GT4 car where I was able to drive the cars back to back!

Wow didnt expect the m4 to be sluggish compared to the m6...and the m2 heavier than both haha

I know! In their form I completely agree... however the cars functions become so much more advanced from M2-M6

With carbon doors , as on the M4 Gt4 , M2 would have same weight , 2 seconds difference is not a lot between the cars , considering 70 hp extra power on the M4 and 300 mm slick vs 270 on the M2 CS Racing , M4 is also on Ohlins and have proper racing brakes and Bosch ABS sistem

Hi David, loving the content. I've got a bit of spare income and i'm looking to get into racing, i've done some competitive karting in the past few years but where would you suggest looking for the next step? Cheers.

Hi Thomas, Awesome, where have you been karting? I assume youre from the UK....? Also depends on what you'd like to achieve. A bucket list race? Fun? FWD/RWD? Club100 is a great karting championship. The M2 would be a great Touring car/GT car to learn to drive. There are some great championships in Europe starting next year. 750MC has some great entry level championships in the UK Ginetta has a great entry level of GT cars. C1 / Enduro KA racing are great competitive entry level series. Caterhams are great and have a great community around entry level racers.

@@david_pittard Thanks for the reply. I've been getting involved with smaller karting leagues up and down the country. I planned on hopping onto club 100 this year whilst I decide where to start with racing actual cars. Yep UK based, gotta be RWD. GT would be brilliant but is probably a few years down the road for now. I didn't think to check ginettas, their novice arrive and drive championship look bang on for what I want so thanks for that you might have answered my question. 750MC's F1000 and 750 are appealing but I might be better off with a lower downforce machine for my first year. Hi David, do you think the wheel base helped the turn in of the m2 and were the dampers the same on both the m2 and m4. Have a great Christmas.

Hi Andrew, yes shorter wheelbase will definately help the agility of the car in the tighter corners, No there were differences in the dampers.... but I don't know which car was running what damper!

@@david_pittard M4 GT4 use Ohlins 2 way and M2 ZF/Sachs 1 way adjustable , I am still thinking which ones to buy for my M2 time attack car . Any recommendation?
