The m25 has out lived its capacity. From Dover onwards our roads are jammed with mostly eastern European lorrys. We uk lorry drivers used to call the M25 the magic roundabout.

Andy, my sympathy for you as well as the poor souls in the accident. I was stuck for 5 or 6 hours on that stretch from Gatwick after a lorry carrying timber overturned, or somehow shed its load. Horrendous.

Also: The lorry fire shut the M1 junc16-18 ALL day and the M40 had 7 mile tailbacks for a 3 car pile up. Hardly mentioned on the radio due to so many others. What’s happening? Friday the 13th was last week.

It's been a fucking disaster, my other half is a HGV Driver and the delays and reroutes have been bloody awful. Another day maxed out on working hours and lots of HGV Drivers unexpectedly spending the night in their cabs.

Hi Andy, on a very much "happier" note, many years ago there was a smash on the M25 just before the 23. A Ramsgate charter skipper was on his way to Gatwick, everything stopped people were out of their cars. He then saw an aircrew next to him , he then said this is my holiday ###### up, transpired it was his aircraft crew he was flying with. So a little late but still went on holiday.

I drive weekly from Maidstone to Reigate, the M20 has major roadworks and a speed limit of 50mph, then onto the M26 which has no issues, then onto the dreaded M25, roadworks from the M26 to the M23 again with a 50mph speed limit, unless you are driving a lorry with foreign number plates, then the speed limit doesn’t apply to them. These lorries undertake cars and drive on the rear of cars, one flashed me, to move over, I had nowhere to go so he decided to drive right on my rear, I moved over and he accelerated past my like a rocket, if he had to brake hard someone is going to be killed.

We Aussies got stuck on the m25 for 3 hours last December BECAUSE OF A HORSE. Both sides shut down while a horse float and vet came along to remove said horse. Only in the uk i guess.

Wondered where you where. There's nothing you can do now but roll with the flow. It took me years to learn that so I must offer it up. Not that dealing with things like this is easy but trying to do that is better than high blood pressure and a headache. 😂 Took me about 50 years to learn a bit of patience and I'm now 67. Essex Police was called to the anti-clockwise carriageway of the motorway between junction 27, near Epping, and junction 28, near Brentwood, at about 11:00 GMT today. Learner drivers aren't allowed on Motorways, they can only have a training session where the instructor drives and they are the passenger. Unless you live in Dorset, rural Wales or the far north of Scotland (where there are no Motorways) so you've dipped, and will have to chance it once you get your license!

Maybe if the police spent less time measuring skid marks and taking photos things would get moving a bit sooner. There is not enough priority on getting the road reopened to traffic. I was stuck for six hours once on the M6 because a woman had got out of a mental hospital and jumped from an overpass in front of a lorry. Died at the scene - obviously. But why did it take six hours to move the body and get the road opened?

A pro tip most people don't know about the M25. Theres more than one lane. Most people just sit nose to tail in the middle lane at 68mph, but in fact if you look carefully to your right and particularly your left, youll notice miles and miles of empty lane than you can use. Check it out guys next time you are there! Works on the M11 and A14 too 👍
